Essential Care lipstick in Praline review

I bought this lipstick at the same time that I bought the Essential care concealer which is a brilliant product (review here), I am pleased to say I love this just as much and it has been my lipstick of choice for work almost everyday.

Now I honestly believe we are spoilt for choice with good organic skincare, but great organic make up is often trickier to find. Before I talk about the actual lipstick let's just have a look at why I love Essential Care:

They are Soil Association certified and they use certified fair trade ingredients in their makeup.
All packaging is as Eco-friendly and sustainable as possible and the packaging for the lipstick and the concealer are made from corn and is completely recyclable.

Essential care is a Cruelty free brand, some of their items are vegan and every product has a full ingredients list on the website.
The lipstick is 100% natural and has 86% natural ingredients, you will find no lead, synthetic dyes and no carmine in these lipsticks. Carmine is a natural pigment made from crushed beetles and is in lot's of natural makeup so I was overjoyed to find these were carmine free, who wants bugs on their lips... not me.

Praline is a browny nude shade with a hint of pink, very wearable, I work in an environment where bright make up is frowned upon so this is perfect for me. The formula is exceptional, creamy, lasts well on the lips and beautifully pigmented, it's perfect.

As with most organic brands the shade range is small compared to larger companies, but the shades they have all look beautiful and I have already put a couple of other colours on my wish list. The more we support wonderful organic brands the more their ranges will grow.

You can buy all Essential care make up and skincare on their Website I was very impressed with their delivery which was fast and everything was well packaged.

Have you tried Essential Care makeup? What did you think?

    1. Funny you should say that but I have been writing a blog post about carmine because I think a lot of people are unaware it is so widely used. x
