Organic Burst Supplements

Although I am health conscious I still have a long way to go in cleaning up some aspects of my lifestyle, I am sugar junkie and at the moment I have far too much stress in my life too, juggling work and family life as well as a recent house move was taking it's toll. A while ago whilst feeling extremely tired and lethargic I decided to look at supplements that would give me a boost. Organic Burst came up again and again as the supplements of choice for so many people who's opinions I trust and so when I was offered the chance to try some of their Super foods, it seemed like the perfect choice.

I will preface this review by saying I don't believe in supplementing with lot's of different items just for the sake of it, I am very conscious that sometimes that can do more harm than good, also the ingredients and sourcing of many supplements is not always ideal. One of the reasons I was attracted to this range was that it is Soil Association certified and the brand also has excellent ethical practices.

The range consists of five powdered super foods, which are foods with an exceptionally high nutritional content, each with their respective health benefits: Acai Berry, Spirulina, Wheatgrass, Maca and Boabab. I have been using Wheatgrass and Boabab for a little while now, and I have been really pleased with the results they have given me.

I have tried wheatgrass products before from other brands and wasn't impressed so I was uncertain about whether I should try it again. I am pleased to report that Organic Burst wheatgrass is much more palatable than others, in fact I have now gotten quite used to the taste. I like to mix the wheatgrass with fruit juice or into a smoothie, I also like it with coconut water for a refreshing boost. If it's not going in the blender you do need to give it a good stir to mix, however it is very finely milled and mixes well for a powder.

Humans have been consuming wheatgrass for thousands of years and it is well know for it's cleansing properties, it contains Clorophyll, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. The organic farming methods used by organic burst ensure that it is nutrient rich and retains valuable fibres.

Boabab is a fruit also know as "The tree of life" and grows in Africa, OB are working closely with PhytoTrade Africa a non-profit organisation that aims to eliminate poverty through ethical and sustainable trading of the Baobab fruit. This has a lovely sweet taste so would be an ideal introduction for anyone who is new to super food supplements.

Boabob contains high levels of Vitamin C and iron and can boost energy levels and immune system. These supplements are made in the UK, in a medicinal facility ensuring high quality of production.

My Favourite recipe for Boabab is my chocolate breakfast smoothie:

  • 200 mls of Almond milk (You can use any milk that you like, I prefer organic)
  • One small banana
  • A small scoop of whey protein powder (I use Pulsin whey protein that is unsweetened and from hormone free cows)
  • One teaspoon of organic hot chocolate powder (Green and blacks is my preferred option)
  • One-Two teaspoons of organic burst Boabab
  • Blend until smooth and enjoy!

This recipe is surprisingly filling and great for those mornings when I am rushing around without any real time to eat breakfast, it also takes two minutes to put together in the blender and tastes delicious!

I am truly impressed with these supplements and now that I have incorporated them into my routine I definitely won't be stopping anytime soon. Organic Burst is a brilliant company that care greatly not only about the quality of their supplements but about reducing the environmental impact and making a positive contribution to the communities where the ingredients are sourced.

The wheatgrass is priced at £6.69 and the Boabab costs £8.29 which I think is exceptional value for the quality that you are getting, and it means that they are an affordable way to boost health.

I think if you are looking for supplements to add to your diet, Organic Burst are some of the best on the market, you can find the full range here, the website also has lot's more information on the benefits of the supplements and Organic Burst's values. You can also connect with the brand on Twitter.

    1. I definitely think so, but that depends what you mean by a positive difference, I don't believe any one thing is magic by itself but it definitely helps me to feel better :)
