Indie Lee Squalane facial oil review

I mentioned a few weeks ago my excitement that this brand was coming to the UK, there are so many American brands that are not readily available here that when a range this good arrives it really brightens up my day.
I have had this oil for quite a while now, but I will be honest I really wanted to give a thorough test and really see what all the hype is about. I have a large collection of facial oils, they are my favourite beauty products and I make no apologies for the fact that I own more oils than I do pairs of shoes, so for an oil to arrive in my collection and compete with the tried and tested favourites is no mean feat.

Let's start with what squalane actually is, this is an ingredient that can be somewhat controversial due to the fact that it can be sourced from sharks liver, you don't need to worry about that with Indie Lee as the oil she uses is 100% vegetable derived and sourced from olives. So what does it do that can compete with all of the other much loved oils such as Rosehip and Argan? Well squalane is naturally part of our lipid structure until our mid to late twenties and then production dramatically slows down which means we loose our youthful glow, using this oil tops up your levels and it also helps with dark spots and signs of ageing making it a bit of an all round wonder product.

The product itself is completely clear and odourless and I would have to say perfect for sensitive or picky skins, in fact if you look on the Indie Lee website there are lot's of comment's from people who have acne and oily skin as well as mature skin all absolutely raving about this product. I take a pump and smooth it on to damp skin, it applies beautifully, leaving the skin velvety and glowing, it hydrates and smooths but what it does most beautifully is prime the skin for make up. I use mineral foundation and it can be hard to get a good coverage without it looking cakey, this has not been an issue since I have been using this oil, everything glides beautifully over the top and looks flawless.

Iam not ready to give up all of my other blends completely, but for an oil made from one single ingredient this is incredibly impressive in it's results. It mixes nicely with other oils and treatments too which is an added bonus if like me you like to layer products.

My conclusion, well it's a keeper in case you haven't already guessed and yes the rest of the products are already calling my name so expect to see more Indie Lee on this blog very soon. If you have sensitive, blemish prone or mature skin or simply want an oil that does wonders for your skin but doesn't break the bank, this has got everyone covered. You can't really go wrong with this and I have a feeling it is set to become the next big celeb and make up artist favourite. You can shop the product here.

    1. I don't think there are many people who would dislike this, it is suitable for all skin types and there aren't many products you can truly say that about, highly recommended :) Xx
