Gift idea: Melvita L'Or Bio Fragrance

I have another sparkling offering from Melvita to show you today this time in the form of perfume. This scent is new to the brand and comes the closest in terms of performance to a more conventional perfume of any of the natural offerings I have tried before without giving me any of the nasty headaches I can get from some scents.

Continuing on with the Christmas gift (or treat for yourself!) theme today's gift set is from Nourish one of my favourite brands. The Argan Beauty collection* (£25) contains three of the best selling products from the Argan range which are infused with Frankincense and Myrhh, I don't think you can get much more Christmassy or luxe than that really!

Jurlique Rose moisture plus range

Despite eyeing their products for years I had never tried this Australian brand until a few months ago, Jurlique is what I like to call a fusion brand, not sure if that is a thing in skincare but I am stealing the word from cooking because I really like it!

For Him: Green People for men

With the expansion of the natural and organic market there is an increasing amount of companies offering unisex options or options aimed at men. During November Green People were asking for bloggers to hand over their blogs to the men in their lives and so today I bring to you a review from my other half.

Gift Idea: Amphora Aromatics Organic originals set

For my second gift idea post I have chosen to share this super gift box from Amphora Aromatics, this is a lovely substantial gift which I really like, all too often gift boxes can be a little deflating once you realise that they are mostly packaging, but not so the case with this.

Current loves: Powder cleansers, exfoliators and masks

There is a theme with a lot of the new additions to my routine recently, I am really enjoying powder cleansers, exfoliants and masks. Just like many of my favourite products these products have no water and therefore don't require a conventional preservative and you add water only when you are going to use them meaning they keep fresher for longer.

Artisan skincare with AS.AP Apothecary

This week AS.AP which stands for Amanda Sourin Apothecary launched at Content Beauty and I thought it would be the perfect time to introduce this gorgeous line on my blog. I have featured Amanda's previous brand Wellgreen Lewes a few times before and it was a firm favourite but with AS.AP Amanda has created a line that is truly exquisite and altogether more refined compared to anything I have used before.

Skincare: The soothing and calming edit

The clocks have gone back, the evenings are much darker and there is a chill in the air, whilst there are many things I adore about autumn I can't deny it mostly just makes me want to curl up and snooze on the sofa. For the past couple of weeks I have been reaching for products that are soothing, calming and fuss free to hydrate autumn skin and keep redness at bay.

New to the UK: Indie Lee Body oils

One of the many things I love about A Beautiful World is that they love to interact with their customers to find out what products they want to see on the site, in fact you can send them a message to let them know what brands or products you would be interested in and they will look in to stocking them. People asked and A Beautiful world listened bringing on board some gorgeous new products from Indie Lee, I am a big big fan of Indie Lee's range, this American brand is exclusively found on A Beautiful World in the UK and every product I have tried I have been impressed with so far.

I have been trying out the Vanilla Citrus body oil* (£24 for 4oz) which is lovely light multi-purpose oil suitable for the hair, face and body. Unlike some of my other body oils this has a very light scent, more Vanilla but with a slight twist of citrus, it's incredibly easy to use on an everyday basis and I have managed to make a significant dent in this already because I have been reaching for it a lot. The oil comes in a nice glass pump bottle, I do find the pump on mine slightly temperamental but not enough to prevent me from using the oil properly, I think I was just unlucky with it! The combination of ingredients is simple, in fact the same can be said for a lot of Indie's products but don't be fooled by the simplicity, there is an art to taking simple, good quality ingredients and making them in to something this gorgeous to use and Indie certainly seems to have that art! Jojoba and apricot oils give this body oil silky finish on the skin that is easily absorbed leaving it velvety smooth. If you don't usually like body oils because you find them heavy then this is one I would recommend you try.

I also pop some of this on my hair and leave for 30 minutes before I wash it out, it hydrates dry ends and doesn't weigh the hair down. I love an oil that is versatile and I think this one ticks that box beautifully. If Vanilla Citrus doesn't appeal you can also choose from Lavender and Chamomile or Patchouli Sandlewood and you can currently get 10% off with the code INDIEOILS10.

Luxury beauty: Kimia Facial Rejuvenating system review

If there was one beauty product that has become an absolute essential in my routine it's a good facial oil, I love using different combinations of ingredients depending on how my skin is feeling. I think if you are looking for a product that is healing, nurturing and will leave your skin look it's best, a good quality oil will do all that and more.

DGJ organics Haircare review

A couple of months ago I was sent a parcel from Daniel Galvin Junior organics with some of their haircare and children's products to test out. What appealed to me about the brand is that they are readily available in stores such as Waitrose and John Lewis and that they have an affordable price point as I know I like to finder budget friendly alternatives where possible.

Erase imperfections with the Studio 78 concealer

When it comes to natural and organic make up options things have come a long way in the last few years. When it comes to more full coverage and shade options I still think there is a way to go however with sheerer formulas much more easily found in cream formulas.

Winter skincare: Nuxe Bio-beaute hand cream with cold cream

I have been bringing you plenty of different options for parched winter skin including your hands but today's offering is from a brand new to this blog. The brand is the offshoot of the hugely successful French pharmacy brand Nuxe, the Nuxe Bio Beaute line. Whilst Nuxe itself is readily available this sister line isn't but I have to say it should be because the quality of the products is really very good. I have been using the Nuxe Bio-beaute hand cream* (£8.69 for 75 mls) and it's one of those no nonsense products that really get's on with the job at hand which is to sooth and comfort dry skin. This cream is the ideal solution for those of you who want something rich with lovely slip but need a hand cream with no residue left behind.

I apply a small amount frequently during the day, this hand cream hangs about for long enough so that you can massage it in well, by long enough I mean no more than 30 seconds but leaves behind only soft skin that breathes a sigh of relief from the cold and irritation. The ingredients list is as you would expect from a certified organic product full of plenty of plant based ingredients including some of my favourite Coconut oil, Argan oil and Shea butter, fragrance is listed with no reference to it's origins either natural or synthetic but the scent to me smells sweet and subtle, which although can be a little sickly if you use too much, in small doses makes a very nice change from other scents.

I think this is a nice little product and brand, I like that some of the French companies are diversifying and adding organic ranges to their already well established profile.

Wildwood Groves Rescue eye serum with Barbary fig seed oil

A couple of years ago Argan oil exploded on to the beauty scene and since then it's not shown signs of becoming any less popular. Joining Argan in the spotlight are are several other oils with incredible skin benefits, Sea Buckthorn, carrot oil are two that are popping up increasingly in formulations, it seems that now people have found out the benefits using oils is here to stay and I for one am very happy about that.

Lily Lolo Review: Lip gloss and mineral blush

I do believe Lily Lolo were one of the first (if not THE first!) make up brands that I explored when I first started to stray away from the high street. Since then their products have been a constant for me, I adore their blushes (See here) and their affordable price point and good ingredients means that I keep coming back again and again.

Introducing: The Rose Tree luxury organics

A while ago I ordered some sample sizes from The Rose Tree it's easy to see why I was enticed by this brand, it looks so perfect! When I actually received my samples I was completely overwhelmed and grateful to find the founder Olga had included some beautiful full sized products for me to try, I try and shop anonymously and I don't use my blog email, but it would seem this time my cover was indeed blown.

Budget beauty: Faith in Nature chocolate haircare

Faith in Nature is a brand that I have used before a few times, I like that the brand is quite readily available and I can get hold of the products on my local high street in the well stocked health food shop we have. I have had a few hits and a miss with their products I love the bath and shower foams but wasn't such a fan of the face cream, having said that it has in no way put me off trying more from the brand and when I was offered a chance to review their haircare I was more than happy to do so.

Luxury Beauty: Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum

If there is one beauty product that I would struggle to give up it's a good facial oil, my skin responds to oils extremely well, as someone with sensitive skin that definitely leans to the drier side especially in winter I use oils every day, twice a day and I adore the results.

Bodhi and Birch Rosa Rosa skincare review

In August I made the journey to London to attend the Bodhi and Birch Rosa Rosa launch which you can read about here. Autumn skincare: Herbfarmacy Mallow Beauty balm

There is a distinct Autumn chill in the air and with it comes the need to switch up my skincare routine significantly. Throughout the summer months I relied purely on oils and very light creams to keep my skin hydrated but having dry skin in colder months means the need for something more nurturing and protecting. I am a lover of balms, they have a regular place in both my routine and this blog but haven't yet mentioned the beautiful Herbfarmacy Mallow Beauty Balm (£14.50 for 30 grams).

Handmade Heaven: Bloom remedies Relax Body Scrub

When it comes to body scrubs you have a few choices to make, namely Sugar versus Salt. Please, never never choose plastic micro-beads it is incredibly unnecessary and has a devastating effect on marine life and frankly who wants to be killing fish for smoother skin... not me anyway. Back to the Sugar versus salt debate, I have to admit to liking both but I find with my extremely dry skin I prefer a salt scrub for an all over once a week treatment and a sugar scrub for a mid week top up especially before shaving.

New release: Melvita Universal cream

Rarely am I completely smitten with any product from first use but the new Universal cream* (£15 for 100 mls) from Melvita is one of those products that just works. This delicious and light cream contains beeswax, Meadowsweet and Elderberry flowers to hydrate the skin, this is just so addictive, the minute I received I was using it for everything from my hands to my face and I haven't really stopped since.

New from Bodhi and Birch: Camomile sky bath and shower therapy

New to the Bodhi and Birch family is the Camomile sky bath and shower therapy* (£18 for 200 mls) and what a fabulous new addition it is! You may have noticed that the brand has had a little make over, the bath and shower therapies now come with a practical and sleek pump applicator and I love the gold detail which showcases the new name too, for Bodhi is now Bodhi and Birch the perfect reflection of the brands East meets West philosophies.
