New Launch: Bee Good skincare

Bee Good are a new British brand that have exploded on to the the beauty scene with their beautifully packaged range of skincare which has honey and propolis as it's main ingredients. I love a brand that loves the bees so I was keen to delve in and give this one a try.

The brand was created by a husband and wife team Simon and Caroline who started the skincare business at their kitchen table, initially as a way to use up the left over beeswax they had from harvesting honey. What started out just as something they did for presents for family and friends has now grown in to a full time business. They source all of their bee-based ingredients from British Bee keepers, which directly supports the Bee population and they will will giving a percentage of their profits to the UK Bee Keepers Association. I was lucky enough to be sent a couple of their products for review:

Honey and Propolis 2-in-1 creamy cleanser It's always a pleasant surprise when a product is even better than you are expecting it to be and this little tube of cleanser had me oooohing and ahhhhing with excitement (not quite herbal essences ad style, I do like to keep things decent here on the blog but you get my drift!) This is a rich thick cream cleanser, thicker than other versions I have previously reviewed (for reference it is thicker than the Pai and Green People offerings for example), but it spreads beautifully and has a great slip to it, you can really give yourself a good massage with this. This cream cleanser can remove most make up (all except the most stubborn eye make up, for that an oil always wins!) and is gentle to use, I find it great as a first or second cleanse. The scent is subtle and quite fresh, I really like it and it didn't cause me any irritation. This brand uses plant oils alongside the key ingredients propolis and the honey and is free from parabens, mineral oils and propylene glycol. Crambe seed oil is used which is an inedible plant native to the Mediterranean, the oil used in the cream cleanser is grown in the UK. Propolis is known for it's anti-bacterial properties and last but not least British wild flower honey is intensely moisturising. This will appeal to cream and balm cleanser fans because it almost sits somewhere in between the two, more nourishing than your average cream cleanser and with the massage properties of a balm. If you have dry or sensitive skin like me I highly recommend this for you, the price is also an added bonus as I do think it is very reasonable. The cleanser comes with a cloth which is quite soft and sturdy compared to the usual offerings that generally come with cleansers, although to be honest I would prefer to be able to buy the cloth separately, but that is just personal preference.

Honey, Borage and Echium Intensive hand repair This intensive hand cream has some amazing ingredients such as Borage, otherwise known as star flower oil, Echium oil, wildflower honey and of course beeswax. You can use this on any areas of intensely dry skin such as elbows, knees or feet and you only need a small amount make even the driest of skins feel comfortable again. Despite the richness of the ingredients the product immediately sinks in to the skin leaving it soft and delicately scented, the skin can feel ever so slightly tacky for about a minute after application but it really doesn't last long and you are left with a nourished but completely matte finish.

I am very impressed with Bee Good, all the products are under £20 so far and the cleanser in particular is a stand out and is a product that I can see myself repurchasing in the not too distant future. Bee Good include a label with wild flower seeds embedded for planting which is a great little touch. They also have the leaping bunny seal of approval so you can guarantee they are cruelty free which is a big bonus in my books. You can find full ingredients lists and plenty of information on the Bee Good website. Completely irrelevant to the actual review but the press pack was the cutest, bee shaped biscuits (I squealed with delight!), it shows lovely attention to detail and thought on behalf of Bee Good. If you have tried this brand I would love to hear how you got on.

Ana x

  6. I've seen these everywhere on Twitter & blogs recently. The creamer sounds lovely, I have to admit I do like the Pai cleanser but it isn't thick enough for my liking so this might be better from that aspect. I love that it comes with the seeds & those biscuits are just so cute & thoughtful :) xx

Your post has literally just made me purchase the cleanser, i love that you describe it as thick because that is what i love when I'm taking my face off at the end of the day, i also can't believe the affordability of their products and to top it off their story melts me a little :) i love how they created this line from something they are passionate about xx

  10. I nearly bought this but I was put off by the size - I prefer 200ml bottles so they last longer! I ended up getting a Green People one instead. Hopefully they'll do a bigger bottle as the range develops! xx
