Natural Haircare: The Body deli shampoo and conditioner

I am developing a deep love for the Body Deli, this month I have been loving their Creme de Rose which I will review another day but for now I am going to have a little rave about their Shampoo and conditioner.

The Body Deli are a brand straight out of Southern California who use raw ingredients in their innovative formulas, think green smoothies and super foods but in your products, to feed your skin and give it nourishment.

Ihave such fussy hair and scalp, I have spent considerable time and money finding products that would suit both and so when I do it makes me very happy indeed. Lately I have found a couple of brands that have been great, I do like to have options when it comes to haircare as I really like to rotate products to stop your hair getting too used to one thing. I am going to make a bold statement for me and say I think I may well have found the perfect shampoo and conditioner in this pair from the Body Deli, something I don't say lightly!

So what makes these products so good. Starting with the Sprouted mineral greens formula shampoo, this shampoo is so so gentle on an easily irritated scalp whilst also leaving the hair soft, smooth and really healthy looking. It really seems to just manage to do everything I want my shampoo to do and a bit more on top, this is a low foaming shampoo, the foaming ingredients used are very gentle and score a 0 on EWG database, however I just loved it and normally I can't get on with this type of shampoo at all! Whilst it is low foaming it doesn't feel like it tugs or pulls the hair at all when you use and feels incredibly nourishing (probably thanks to the Shea Butter!). The shampoo is green in colour which perhaps may take a little getting used to for some, but the scent and feel are pure luxury, a gentle mix of rosemary, peppermint, spearmint and lemon verbena which feels cleansing on the scalp. There are too many good ingredients for me to list them all, I urge you to take a look at the ingredients list yourself as it is fantastic. I always shampoo my hair twice, on the second shampoo you get more lather but overall you don't need a lot of product to get the job done. I know the price may seem expensive for some and I wouldn't disagree with the fact that it is undoubtedly an investment but this shampoo is one of the few I would say I think is absolutely worth it and I won't hesitate to buy it again.

The Living hair sprouted greens conditioner is a lovely conditioner which contains Shea butter and a host of super foods that heal and repair damaged hair, such as spinach, kelp, spirulina and many many more. I think the shampoo and the conditioner both work very well together and with these products you see more benefits the longer you use them which can be unusual for hair products as you can often see great results initially and soon that fades away. I have enjoyed these more the more I have used them and have tested them for a good couple months to ensure they really did work for me. I have lot's of each product left as they are both very concentrated but as you would expect I have used more of the shampoo. Since using these in combination I have had less frizz, thicker hair and a happy scalp and I would highly recommend if you can afford them to check them out for yourself. Both of these come with a pump dispenser which works well and is very practical, whilst also looking good in your bathroom.

A Beautiful world has really brought a gem to the UK when it comes to the Body Deli, I have enjoyed everything I have sampled so far and I can't wait to explore more from the range. It's not often I am so enthusiastic but I think these are a total must have.

Ana x

  3. I recently came across The Body Deli brand through A beautiful world and their products are really quite different from others and I would love to try their face scrub! I don't think I would spend that much on the shampoo and conditioner though, but if somebody asks me what I would like for my birthday.. then yeah, I am going to send them to A beautiful world website.. :-)

  7. I have been dithering about splashing out on these for a while. Does the conditioner leave your hair reasonably knot-free Ana? x

  10. Wow Anna, these two products sound really amazing! I will have a closer look at the shampoo and see if it could work for my hair. Like I mentioned on Instagram I haven't had any wowee results with Rahua which is a shame but what works for some doesn't always for oneself. The conditioner from Rahua is amazing though! And smells divine so that could be one to buy (received a sample from lovely Liz of Smells Like a Green Spirit) but before I do I will look into Body Deli. Maybe Josh Rosebrook too? I'm completely with you on the challenge of finding good haircare! Great post as always Anna =) xx

  13. These products sound great, but I was wondering: when you switched to more natural haircare, did your hair go through an unpleasant "transition" period? I currently use Oribe products, which aren't that bad, but I'm worried about what might happen if I switch.
