Feel like a queen with La Sultane de Saba

After testing so many natural and organic products it can be hard to find something that is fresh and interesting, however I am always looking out for more niche brands and making interesting discoveries, La Sultane de Saba is definitely a brand that got my attention with it's products inspired by oriental beauty rituals and travelling around the world. La Sultane de Saba make products with rare ingredients from around the world that are paraben free and also free from animal ingredients. The range is sold worldwide and they also have dedicated Spa's and trained therapists if you want to indulge yourself in an ancient beauty ritual or two. The name La Sultane de Saba comes from he legendary beauty also known as the Queen of Sheba who's taste in salves and perfumes made her the fabled Goddess of beauty, she travelled around the world imparting gifts of gold, incense and perfume and in this ancestral beauty is where the brand draws their inspiration.

I was sent two products to sample and they have been transforming my evening pampering sessions in to the most decadent rituals. The Shea Butter with Rose* (£30.50 for 300 mls) comes in a really eye catching glass jar, it has the logo of the brand embossed on the side and the oriental themed labels look beautiful on the bathroom shelf. Inside the jar is pure Shea Butter scented with the most exquisite fragrance I have ever smelt, in fact when I was in London I made all the girls smell this jar of goodness as the brand is stocked at nature and co. The scent is rose but I can also smell a hint of orange blossom and maybe strawberry, simply delicious and very decadent. It is just listed as fragrance on the label, and on the site they list perfume extracts, I do prefer to know exactly where the fragrance comes from but when a products smells this good I am happy to make an exception especially as I have no fragrance allergies or intolerances, it is worth noting that even if the fragrance origin is natural some companies use the term anyway as it is a trade secret. You only need a small amount at a time and it melts with the heat of your hands in to very rich oil perfect for a pampering, Shea butter has been widely used as a cosmetic ingredient throughout history, in fact even Cleopatra was thought to have used it and it has exceptional moisturising properties. I have also been using the Prickly Pear facial oil with Rose* (£42.50 for 50 mls) which shares the same exotic rose scent, as well as having just two other ingredients organic prickly pear oil and sunflower oil. Prickly Pear delivers double the amount of essential fatty acids and protein of Argan oil and is fast becoming a wonder oil in skincare, it is an expensive ingredient which is used in more luxury products. It is a little early in the testing stage to comment on long term benefits but I have been really enjoying this oil as part of an at home facial, it is very light and easily absorbed, I like to pop a pump in to my hands and inhale the delicate scent before applying to damp skin that has been sprayed with rose water. Skin is left soft, smooth and deeply hydrated as well as with a lovely glow in the morning so I am excited to see what the effects will be after longer term use.

I love the elegant simplicity of La Sultane de Saba, the products deliver not just lovely results but a beautiful spa like experience. The concept behind the brand and the products have captured my imagination and have been an absolute pleasure to use. If you are looking for a luxury treat then look no further than La Sultane de Saba.

*EDIT: I have been told the fragrance is all natural from essential oils, yay!*
