Green beauty news and launches #7

It's been a busy old couple of weeks for green beauty news, I went a couple of weeks ago back to Weleda UK HQ in Derbyshire for one of their insight days and had a thoroughly fantastic day learning lot's about how they manufacture their medicines. I will have a post up about that at the weekend so check back in if you are interested. I always like a good green beauty road trip!

Organic Cornish brand Bloom remedies has launched three new body scrubs this week and they all look good enough to eat! They are all made with Cornish sea salt and organic whipped Shea butter, coconut oil and olive oil and their own special blend of essential oils. Revive is a lovely sounding mix of lemongrass, ginger, cypress and lime, Relax is made with Ylang Ylang, geranium and cedarwood and finally Restore which contains Eucalyptus, Tea tree, Peppermint and rosemary. These are priced at an affordable £18 for 250 mls and they all sound delicious.

One of my favourite mineral make up brands Lily Lolo has just released six new pressed blush shades, I have been using their loose mineral blushers for years and have become very attached to them so pressed blushers in the same range make me incredibly happy! They are priced at £9.99, I intend to stock up.

The new lipstick crayons from Benecos look absolutely fantastic and they are a fraction of the price of Ilia. There are three shades available and I have my eye on the shade Silky Tulip, they are available at Eccoverde in Europe or Pemberley Jones in the States.

The website Sophia's choice has a great promotion going on at the moment on the brand Ochre body and skin, during the month of July if you spend £30 or more on the range you get a free Enliven salt scrub worth £24. I tried the Ochre shampoo and conditioner and they are fantastic products highly recommended.

I was thrilled for one of my favourite brand Therapi this week as their Honey and Propolis + ultra radiance cream has won a gold award from The Green Parent magazine, as this is my personal favourite from the range I am thrilled for Tanya as she is just so passionate about what she does it is well deserved.

Finally the Free From skincare awards took place last Friday at the Love Natural Love organic show and I would like to give a little mention to some of the fabulous brands that I have featured on the blog and that are now also award winners:

The Best Free from brand was awarded to Botanicals and I was really thrilled for them, the rebranding looks fantastic and I have found all of the products I have tried from them to be fantastic so it is well deserved. Green People took Silver and Aurelia skincare took bronze. Nom Nom skincare one of my favourite brands catering for mums and babies took away A gold and a bronze award in the family skincare category. Kosmea got silver in the same category for their skin rescue balm which is a real favourite of mine. Weleda grabbed a bronze for their Millet shampoo in the haircare category. Odylique by Essential care got the gold award for the Coconut candy scrub in the take off body care category, another product I have reviewed and loved. Mel Millis got a bronze award for their Rose and Pomegranate oil, another well deserved win from a relatively new brand. NATorigin got a silver award for their compact powder in the make up category. MuLondon got a silver award for the White chocolate knee, heal and elbow cream. The face care category was of course hotly contested and so many of my favourite products got awards, Herbfarmacy got the gold for their Mallow beauty balm which is gorgeous, Lyonsleaf got a silver for their Beauty balm, another hero product on this blog. Organic Surge picked a Silver award for their Hot cloth cleanser. The final category is problem skin which is where Lyonsleaf got the gold award for their calendula cream which is a first aid and problem skin staple in my house and Bloom remedies picked up a silver award for their for their Daily detox moisturiser, finally Kris D'amour picked up a bronze for his Soothing treatment butter another product which I have reviewed and loved. Congratulations to all the winners, I have only mentioned brands which I have reviewed but for a full list of winners go to the Skins matter website
