Summer must haves

Ahh the summer, a bit of sunshine and in the UK suddenly we are all getting pasty pale arms and legs out for all to see. I am not someone who does well in the heat, in fact quite the opposite, we have had some quite hot days already here in the UK and these are the beauty products I have been relying on to keep cool calm and presentable.

The Ancienne Ambiance Goddess floral waters have been keeping me cool in this heat, these were kindly included in my last order as I stocked up on the goddess body wash which I also love. These floral waters have no preservatives or alcohol and I have been loving the chamomile water for soothing sensitivity and the Neroli for keeping shine at bay, they are great for carrying around with you and also great to keep on your desk if like me you spend a lot of time tapping away on a computer. I like to spray regularly during the day to keep me cool.

The Wellgreen Lewes Orange blossom body mist is another beautiful product made from orange blossoms that have been distilled by artisan skincare maker Amanda Saurin. This product smells heavenly, very light and fresh and is perfect for this time of year as the scent is subtle and doesn't linger too much. Every time I spray this I imagine smelling the flowers for myself, it is pure and addictive.

When it comes to body care I am addicted to body oils at this time of year I have been adding this Calendula oil from the fantastic brand Lyonsleaf to other carrier oils to make my own body oil mixes. Calendula has wonderful soothing and healing properties but this oil is very potent so it is recommended you don't use it neat. I have been using this combat everything from prickly heat to dry skin.

The other oil I have been loving is the Advanced Argan oil from the brand Mychelle, they have blended certified organic Argan oil with added Baobab oil, which is full of essential fatty acids and vitamins. I love this simple but effective oil for adding to masks, treatments, to my hair and as a face or body oil. I love a multi-tasking, hard working product and If I could only pack one product when I go on my holiday this oil would be it. I am not a massive fan of the smell of Argan oil but the distinctive nutty scent shows it is a pure oil and it soon fades anyway.

When it comes to summer skincare exfoliation is key, no amount of products will work if you are piling them on top of dead skin cells. The Bodhi and Birch Himalayan Detox salt scrub is still my favourite all time body scrub, this is a one stop shop for good skin, the powerful salt and oil blend leaves the skin perfectly polished and hydrated to perfection and you won't need any other products after using it. It is great for even the driest most neglected of skins and the essential oil blend is uplifting and addictive. I am scraping out the last bit of my second pot but a little goes a long long way and it is a worthy skincare investment, you won't catch me without this in the house.

Summer sunshine calls for a bright lip but not without a perfectly moisturised pout, I have been really enjoying this Vanilla Lip balm from Bee Good which comes in a hygienic squeeze up tube for easy application on the go. It is super nourishing thanks to the lanolin, beeswax and honey included and smells divine.

Lastly summer heat means more showers, this Super fresh awakening body wash from Organic Surge smells beautifully fresh thanks to the May Chang, bergamot and mandarin essential oils and has been helping me to get going in the mornings even with the sticky heat. Like all Organic surge products you get great ingredients at a reasonable price so you can use this one as much as you like knowing it won't break the bank.

What are your summer must haves?

  6. Some lovely products here Ana! And some brands I hadn't heard of before so thanks for the intro! The Argan oil looks sounds especially nice, have fallen in love with it since receiving a sample of Kahina Giving Beauty's one and I adore the smell haha! Might have to check this one out :) And that scrub is divine, I'm alternating between Rosemary Chi and the Kentish cobnut one from Mitchell and Peach. Xx
