New Launch: Bodhi and Birch Rosa Rosa skincare

Thursday I made the trek down to London for a very special event as my all time favourite brand Bodhi and Birch launched their long awaited Rosa Rosa skincare collection. The event was held at St Martin's hotel and in true Bodhi and Birch fashion was impeccably styled. If you are not familiar with Bodhi and Birch they are an eco-luxe brand specialising in East meets west ingredients and philosophies, the brand is based just outside of Birmingham and is becoming something of a cult favourite with it's products getting well deserved mentions in Vogue and Grazia to name a few. What I love about Bodhi and Birch is that whilst their ingredients and ethics are impeccable they are also innovative in the product releases, formulas and scents, it's all too easy for green brands to tread the already well trodden (and safe) path but Bodhi and Birch stand out from the crowd with products that are incredible in their quality as well as being unique. It is also rare for me to love an entire range in the way I do with Bodhi and Birch but I have yet to find a single item I don't like, for me it's a brand which can do no wrong.

The Bodhi and Birch body range has recently had a little make over with the bath and shower therapies and coordinating moisturisers now coming in very sleek slim bottles with pump dispensers, I have found them to be really user friendly and they look spectacular in the bathroom too. As well as the new packaging there has been a slight change in formula to two of the scents Ylang Ylang Incensa and Siam Ginger (Formerly Galangal spice) both scents retain all of their previous character whilst feeling more refined, the changes are subtle but Elijah tells me they are noticeable in the benefits they bring. As I am still working my way through some of my old stash in the previous packaging these are going on my list to buy when I run out. There is also a new addition to the range in the form of Camomile sky, Camomile, sugared hyacinth and blush geranium make a heavenly scented and soothing treat, I have a full review of this one coming up but for now I will say it has become a firm favourite. The whole range was showcased on the day on the most beautiful table, think Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatters tea party meets botanical garden display with a hint of humour coming from the vintage china cups one of which had a moustache protector which is a quirky touch.

The stars of the day were of course the Rosa Rosa launches which consists of three brand new skincare items, we were treated to wonderful hand massages using the new products courtesy of the wonderful Angel, a therapist with a fantastic sense of humour and a cheeky glint in her eye. After thoroughly massaging my arm with the Rosa Rosa clarifying cleanser and rinsing away, Angel sprayed my arms with the Hydrating Toner and followed it with the divinely scented Rosa Rosa Moisturiser, my skin felt so soft and the scents were magical. I have all of these beautiful products to test fully before giving a review but I thought it might be nice to give you some information and a first impression in case you are itching to buy when they launch on the site and to be honest you probably should be as I am seriously impressed. The range can be translated as "blush rose" and blends Bulgarian Damask Rose Otto, Tunisian Neroli and Roman Camomile, the result is what I would call a more grown up multifaceted scent than your usual rose it has a sensual edge but is in no way overpowering when you use it. The Rosa Rosa clarifying cleanser sits somewhere in between a cream and a gel in it's texture, pump out the divinely scented cleanser and massage in to dry skin then add some water to your fingers and the cleanser creates a soft lather enabling you to continue to massage and thoroughly remove all traces of make up, dirt and grime, I have only used it a few times but so far I can tell you it leaves the skin extremely soft and is such a pleasure to use. The Rosa Rosa hydrating toner is a luscious alcohol free spray housed in a luxurious glass bottle, it contains organic rose Camomile and orange blossom flower waters, as well as Aloe vera and witch-hazel, it is instantly cooling and soothing on the skin, I am a big fan of these types of products as I have skin with a tendency not just to be dry but to get very hot and bothered too so I have a spray constantly at my side, this one looks almost too beautiful to use and feels wonderful on the skin. Although the range is aimed at normal to dry skin types including sensitive both the cleanser and the toner would be suitable for combination skins too, just follow up the toner with the Neroli Luce facial oil otherwise known as liquid gold in a bottle and skip the moisturiser. The final product is perhaps the one that surprised me the most and is the Rosa Rosa Daily Moisturiser, this is a wonderful nourishing moisturiser that still manages to be light and apply without a hint of tackiness or residue, I was blown away from the first application with how this made my skin feel and look so I am excited to see the longer term results. With Rosehip fruit oil, Shea Butter, coconut oil and Meadow farm seed oil this moisturiser offers a wealth of nourishment rejuvenation. Although I wasn't expecting it to be I think this may be my favourite out of the three, so far my skin is in love as is my nose.

Whilst the products were the stars of the show for me it was also a pleasure to be able to chat with the other guests and Bodhi staff, Elijah (the founder) lights up when he talks about his products and his enthusiasm has an infectious quality that is utterly wonderful. I spoke to so many lovely people but special mentions go to the lovely Amber from Amber's Beauty Talk and her lovely sister Mia from Pretty Eclectic who saved me from being lost in London, I kid you not my navigational skills leave a lot to be desired! Also I was thrilled to be introduced to Ruby Hammer the fantastic international make up artist, Ruby is such a well known figure in the industry, I used the Ruby and Millie make up range and watched them on TV, so being being able to chat even briefly was a real pleasure. My dear friend Sarah Jayne Watson was also kind enough to meet me before the event, she is an incredibly special person and one I always love to see. There were lot's of great bloggers attending and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting and mingling I spoke to too many people to list them all but it was a pleasure to finally put a name and to a twitter handle. After the event Amber, Mia, Mayah (from Call it Vanity) and I went to Wagamama's for some food before all going our separate ways. All in all I had a great day out in London and I am thrilled to see Bodhi and Birch evolve and progress, Rosa Rosa is going to be a big hit, Thank you to Bodhi and Birch for the invitation and to all the lovely people who made the day fantastic.

  10. I love this brand (well...their body washes and the Desert Rose oil, I find the lip balm to be a waste of money!) I am excited to hear they are launching a larger range! The Desert Rose oil is a godsend to my uber dry and sensitive skin, even the scent is nice (and I often find rose products overpowering - especially the REN ones!). So pleased to read this!

    1. The Desert rose oil is super special, the lip balm is interesting because it does definitely divide people I like it but I use it as a treatment rather than lip balm as such, for protection from the elements I definitely need something heavier. The Rosa Rosa moisturiser especially is super special I think people will love it :) Xx
