RMS does it again: RMS un-powder rave review

Let me present to you the nicest setting powder I have ever tried and without a doubt the most effective, yes ladies and gentlemen RMS does it again with their Un-Powder (£28 for 8 grams). This powder is pure extremely finely milled silica, it is completely translucent and very light on the skin, it has been perfect for setting my make up in the summer and even on warmer days your make up will not budge if you have this on, I tested it on holiday in Devon with variable weather hot and sunny one minute and pouring rain the next and surprisingly I managed to get home without looking too much of a hot mess, something I credit this powder for. Silica is also a key ingredient in more mainstream powders such as the make up forever HD, some googling shows that there are different kinds and some are considered safer than others too, I have no idea what kind of Silica RMS use, but with Rosa Marie's ingredient knowledge I am hopeful that it will be the best possible kind, but that is an assumption as I couldn't find any info on the site. I haven't used this when having any flash photography done so I can't say whether you get the same awful white effect you can with other silica powders but it is worth thinking about if you are likely to be photographed a lot, that look isn't pretty.

I like to apply this with a brush although it comes with a puff if you prefer that method, the packaging is a simple plastic pot with a a sifter, it is not lockable so I keep the puff on the top to avoid any spillages. The feel of this on the skin is velvety, it makes the skin soo soft! I use it to set my T-zone and any concealer and leave the rest of the face dewy but if you love a matte finish you can really go to town with this. Whilst you can achieve a very matte finish I don't think it is at all cakey and I am really happy with my purchase. I bought mine at Content Beauty and I think it was money very well spent bravo Rosa Marie we salute you.

  1. I totally agree with this! The Un-Powder was the first green makeup item I purchased and by far my best find. It's the only setting powder I use! It's a tad expensive but lasts forever :)

    1. If silicones don't bother you I would try the ELF HD powder as it is so much cheaper but I do really like this one, maybe wait for a sale though ;) Xx

  5. Sounds amazing! I don't really have a setting powder, sometimes I use Translucent Silk from Lily Lolo which I've had for a few years I think! Gosh, that's a long time! :) It's lovely, I just forget to use it :P xx

    1. Funnily enough I just finished the Lily Lolo one I must of had for three years it lasts so long. The RMS is more finely milled but the Lily Lolo is a good budget dupe :) Xx

  6. I don't think I've seen a lot of raves for this powder, so it's nice hearing you talk about it. Personally I prefer tinted powders as I need the coverage for my (not so good) skin... That said, I'd still love to try this out and see how it works with my un cover-up. I recently read somewhere that the powder is so fine that it transfered everywhere... Did you have any problems with that? xo

    1. Because this is so light you can get away with using it over mineral powder if you choose to and I often do heavy concealing and find it works great, not noticed any transfer personally I like how finely milled it is, I apply with a small brush and you get in under the eyes ect.. :) Xx

  7. I love Un-Cover up so I can imagine this is great too...I bought one on Etsy (basically the same thing) from another brand but I sometimes find it clings to dry patches so I'd be willing to try this, albeit much more expensive :| xx

    1. I have to say this one doesn't cling at all, but I will be interested to see if that is still the case in the colder months as my skin does get parched! Xx
