DGJ organics Haircare review

A couple of months ago I was sent a parcel from Daniel Galvin Junior organics with some of their haircare and children's products to test out. What appealed to me about the brand is that they are readily available in stores such as Waitrose and John Lewis and that they have an affordable price point as I know I like to finder budget friendly alternatives where possible.

The children's products where without a doubt my favourites and they went down a storm with my son too, he is of an age where he does take an interest in products, when he was a baby I avoided anything foaming like the plague and used very simple skincare on him and if I had another baby I would do it all the same again. Now he is older however and especially as he comes from a day at school caked in mud and paint I am more relaxed and let him enjoy a nice bubbly bath in the evenings. The Top to toe 3 in 1 wash* (£3.99) made an excellent bubble bath and wash, my son loved the fresh citrus scents of grapefruit and mandarin and the bottle design was also fun as you have two interlocking products giving you two scents in one. The scents come from organic essential oils and were very fresh, the wash can also be used as a shampoo which was great, out of all of them this was our favourite product and one I will be sure to buy again. The wild "n" crazy Kids shampoo Banana and Berry* (£3.99) Smells divine and creates a good lather, although it says on the product that these may not foam as much as conventional products the foaming agents used whilst they don't contain any SLS do tend to be higher foaming than other options. The brand uses sodium coco-sulphate and cocomidopryl betaine throughout the ranges, there is plenty of information on both of these on the web, there are pros and cons I find them to be great for creating a good lather and they are non-irritating for both me and my son, some caution may be needed on the most delicate of skins though. Next product we tested was the Wild "n" crazy detangle spray* (£3.99) as my son has short hair I only tend to spray this  on him to soften his hair and give a nice scent but use it on myself to detangle and really liked it, if you have girls who hate having their hair brushed this may be great for them. Finally I tested two products for me the Hair Juice clarifying shampoo and conditioner* (£5.99 each) Scented with Mandarin and Rose these were very nice products, I did find them good for removing build up on the hair and scalp and it left my hair shiny and glossy and feeling lighter, I use these once a week now to keep build up at bay.

All of the products are reasonably priced and work well, although the brand has organics in the name and uses some organic ingredients I think it is worth pointing out however that they are not certified organic as a brand. I did notice no ingredients are available on-line which makes shopping harder for anyone truly ingredients conscious so I would recommend you check the products out in store if possible. If you are after affordable paraben and SLS free products the brand is worth a look but if you are hardcore ingredients purist I think this one won't be for you.
