I do love a creamy cleanser and today's offering is from the brightly packaged brand Human and Kind, there is no doubt in my mind that the simple formulas and fun styling of this brand will appeal to many and I myself couldn't help but be drawn in. The brand designs it's formulas to be multi-tasking and keeps the amount of products in it's range to a minimum so you can design a simple and fuss free regime, even as a skincare junkie I can appreciate the paired down ethos, The brand uses natural or naturally derived ingredients and is mineral oil and paraben free and not tested on animals.
As cleansing is the cornerstone of any regime it seemed fitting that I put the Wash off facial cleanser* (£14.95 for 100 mls) to the test, I found this to be very reminiscent of the Liz Earle cleanse and polish formula so if you are a fan I think you will enjoy this. It is very thick and rich but rinses off cleanly, it comes with a lovely soft cloth, much nicer than the average muslin and it allows you remove all of the cleanser easily. It has some great ingredients such as cocoa butter, aloe vera and rosehip but be aware that the exact fragrance blend is not disclosed so this could be an issue for some even if it does come from natural sources. Although not listed I could definitely pick up that this has mint as you can feel the slightly cooling and refreshing sensation on the skin when you remove it. The let down for me about this formula is that I found it to sting when used around the eyes, there may have been some swearing heard in my bathroom as I got a small amount in my eye and for me that is where the whole concept falls down. I am not someone who is unhappy at having to use a separate eye make up remover, which I do with this cleanser or reserve it for the mornings when I have no make up on, however as Human and Kind market themselves as a brand keen to help you simplify your routine and they say this cleanser can be used around the eyes the fact that it didn't live to it's claims was disappointing. Whilst I wouldn't repurchase this product I am curious to test out their BB cream as my beloved REN is near the end of it's life and I still really like the fun nature of the brand despite not loving this product. The squeeze tube is light and practical for travelling and the price fairly affordable but sadly there are plenty of other cream cleansers I like much more than this one.
Have you tried anything from Human and Kind? What did you think?
