Green beauty news and launches #14

The last time I did one of these posts was beginning of December so as you can imagine I have lot's and lot's to share with you today! Here is what's new in the green beauty world:

New Releases:

New in from Melvita one of my favourite brands for accessible products which are excellent quality is two new lip balms and a facial oil, I won't say too much about these as I am in the process of testing them out so expect a thorough review soon but so far I am extremely impressed with the quality, the oil is a dry oil which sinks in immediately and has a very pretty Jasmine smell as well as leaving the skin supremely soft. Melvita have done nothing but impress with their recent launches, you can find them in store at Wholefoods too.

New to A Beautiful World we have the very cool plant body washes from Brooklyn (see my review here), Schmidts deos and stunning limited edition hot pink nail polish from Intensae which I think will be a massive hit (see here).

From REN we have the Keep young and beautiful Instant firming beauty shot which is an anti-ageing serum to hydrate and firm the skin. I will admit I am not a massive fan of the long names of REN products especially of this range as I think there is nothing wrong with getting older but REN do always deliver skincare that works for a reasonable price point so I look forward to trying this out.

I have developed a slight obsession with the brand La Sultane de Saba the products feel very interesting and fresh and so I am excited to explore more of what they have to offer, depending on how "green" you are I would definitely advise a bit of research before you delve in to the brand (some formulations are greener than others) but if you are a lover of interesting scents I would highly recommend you take a look. I have my eye on their newly launched Orange blossom candle which is beautifully styled and would make a perfect gift.

Organic brand Green People have been seriously stepping things up with their latest releases and so I am very excited to be trialling their newly launched DD cream, I am not entirely sure how far down the alphabet people are going to go with the BB, CC, DD trend but that aside this product is a lovely light to medium coverage foundation with SPF 15 and lot's of nice ingredients to perfect your skin. You can expect a full review soon but so far I am very impressed with this, it feels very light on the skin and the finish is very pretty. At the moment it is launching with a light and medium shade, very light and darker skin tones this one isn't for you yet but fingers crossed that changes in the future.

Caudalie have added another product to their already extremely successful Premier Cru range, this time it is an oil/serum hybrid called The Elixir. I am quite excited test this one out as all the reviews I have read have praised this silky product and it's innovative formula. You can find it at Naturisimo who ship internationally.

Brooklyn based brand SW Basics founded by Adina Grigore is having a bit of a moment in the spotlight, first their launch at Target which is undoubtedly a big deal for a US based company and now Adina has released a book and added a new serum to the capsule line up of products. The premise behind all SW Basics is that they are simple but effective, nothing contains any more than 5 ingredients and the serum oil is a mix of Avocado oil, geranium oil, turmeric oil and coffee oil. Given Adina's commitment to sensitive skin and the inclusion of turmeric oil, well known for it's anti-inflammatory properties means I am intrigued by this, so far it hasn't arrived in the UK that I can see but I will update when it does.

There are three new lip tints added to the Kjaer Weis collection and they are all beautiful! These shades are so far only available at Net-a-porter but there is something for everyone, a lighter pink shade called Amazed, a mid toned bright berry/pink called Rapture and dark magenta called Beloved. I adore the formula of the lip tints and the heavy refillable packaging is exquisite so I can't wait to give these a try.

RMS un-powder is one of my all time favourite beauty products so I was very excited to hear there are three tinted versions added to the range, from what I can tell this is the same silky (I am mean silky!) setting powder with added minerals for extra coverage, perfect for creating a flawless base that will last all day. You can find it on the RMS Website but I am hoping it will trickle through to stockists soon.

Events: If you are looking for a green beauty day out there are some great events coming up.

The Urban Retreat at Harrods have an amazing event hosted on Valentines day to meet Rosa Marie Swift of RMS beauty, you get a 20 minute consultation to talk you through the range and the cost is £25 redeemable against purchases, it's a great opportunity to meet a well respected make up artist and green beauty advocate, if you live in London take advantage and show some self love this Valentines.

In London on the 22-23 of February you have the Organic and Natural Beauty show taking place with a variety of natural, organic, ethical and sustainable brands exhibiting and a variety of events and seminars this is one to go to if you want to explore plenty of green beauty brands all in one place.
