Lipstick is one of my favourite make up items, a swipe of colour never fails to make me feel better even on the worst of days. Lately I have been testing out a Vegan lipstick by Lippy Girl which is a brand that has recently landed in the UK. The Lippy Girl lipstick in Snog me* (£12.50 for 5 grams) is a lovely warm brown that has almost a terracotta undertone, it applies sheer but can be built up especially if you use a lip pencil underneath as that gives the lipstick something to cling to.
The formula of these certainly exceeded my expectations, it is creamy and I can get three to four hours wear after which the colour fades gradually. The formula being vegan has Carnuaba wax instead of beeswax and Shea butter and castor oils which all add nourishment meaning that I don't need to use lip balm underneath. The packaging has a satisfying weight to it and the Aluminium tubes are recyclable too. As they have a Shea butter base and are a little softer than most lipsticks it is recommended that you don't raise the bullet too far to apply. I think possibly the true test for these lipsticks will come in the summer heat but for now I have been very impressed. If vegan formulas are something that is important to you but you also want to avoid mineral oil and the usual lipstick ingredients then Lippy Girl have a lovely selection for you to try.
