New in: Hippy Paste Deodorant

A short and sweet review today of a product that I have actually reviewed previously, see my post comparing three natural deodorants here. The Earth conscious deodorant and website has been updated and the product renamed to Hippy Paste, so naturally I was excited to give the new formula a whirl.

I was kindly sent the Tropical Hippy Paste* (£5 for 60 mls) to test and was although I enjoyed the original, I think the changes made to the new formula make the product even better. Firstly you now have a lot more scent choices, rivalling other brands such as Schmidt's and the packaging looks fresher and brighter whilst still being travel friendly. Secondly there has been a slight tweak to the formula which means it is much smoother and easier to apply as well as being slightly gentler without any loss of performance that I could notice. The formula still contains beeswax, so still not suitable for vegans, but that is the only negative I could find with the updates (Edit: They now have a vegan version available! Fantastic).

The tropical scent combines two of my favourite ingredients, lime and coconut and is just as delicious as it sounds, sweet and zesty. It isn't as heavily scented as something like Schmidt's, that may well be a pro or a con for some, but I am inclined to say that Hippy Paste seems more suited to sensitive skin than many others since the formula switch. Especially given the affordable price point, Hippy Paste makes it in to my top three favourite cream deodorants and is certainly worth a try, I am likely to repurchase in the future.

  2. I want to try this. I loved the Schmidt's initially but it irritated my skin. I am hoping this will be kinder x

  3. I've been trialling this as a possible addition to SC and I have to say I'm impressed. It is my first adventure into bicarb cream deos and so far no irritation coupled with great performance. Also as you say a great price point. A winner all round x
