The simplicity of one ingredient with SW Basics

I deeply admire anyone who can successfully grow their beauty business with a less is more approach. In today's market where there are a huge amount of brands constantly fighting for our attention it's refreshing to see a brand stick to a back to basics philosophy and not deviate from their ethos.

RMS Beauty skin2skin Foundation brush and Swift shadow review

A beauty tool that I didn't know I needed until I tried it? That would be my thoughts on this foundation brush from RMS. I have been a fan of RMS make up for some time, the line founded by US make up artist Rosa Marie Swift, is one of the pioneering natural make up brands, and thanks to it's pretty colours and creamy formulas the brand has developed something of a cult following. The brand has launched several new products lately, including their new pressed eye shadows and make up brushes.

Friday night pamper: Dafna's Recovery cleanser review

Let's talk about luxury cleansing, not your everyday get your make up off before bed cleansing, but the mini-facial at home type cleansing. The one where you might even light a candle and have a hot bath too. I try and give myself a much more thorough cleanse, facial massage and some pampering at least once a week. Since having baby number two time for myself is really quite scarce, but when it does happen I love to make the most of it.

Brand to watch: Handmaids cosmetics

It has been a while since I wrote a brand to watch post, but today's discovery is really rather lovely, so in my opinion is worth the wait. My brand to watch series is all about highlighting smaller or up and coming brands that I think are noteworthy. I will say that as the natural and organic beauty space has grown, so has the number of brands starting up, making the task of finding the real gems that little bit harder.

Weleda Insight 2017

The beautiful calendula otherwise known as pot marigold is just one of the gorgeous plants found in the Weleda gardens tucked away in Ilkeston in Derbyshire. Weleda is a natural pioneer, founded on the philosophies of Rudolf Steiner in 1921, the brand started creating pharmaceuticals and is now one of the global leaders in holistic natural cosmetics.

Pure Anada palette and eyeshadow review

I love a refillable eyeshadow and blush palette, they are great for travel, keeping your make up organised and can cut down on waste as you don't have to throw away lot's of plastic packaging but can just pop a new product in the palette.

Greenwashing: What is it and how to avoid it

There has been a lot of talk of greenwashing again lately, whilst I welcome some of the debate with regards to cosmetic ingredients and standards for brands, I do think that sometimes this issue is taken out of proportion. Like everything in life, perspective is key. Marketing natural brands and products is a tricky business.

Beauty with a cause: Pink and Green skincare Marzipan Body Souffle

One of the wonderful things about many natural and green brands is that they give back to worthy causes. When I heard about the latest product from Pink and Green Skincare and the fact that they were partnering with Safe from Slavery an anti-trafficking charity, I was keen to find out more.

New in: Blue Labelle Divine blend

If you are jetting off on your summer holidays it can be hard to whittle down your skincare collection for travel. If you are anything like me, you will fill up your luggage with products that you never use when you reach your destination! It gets even harder to pack when you only have carry on luggage and so have to restrict the bottle sizes too.
