Rarely am I completely smitten with any product from first use but the new Universal cream from Melvita is one of those products that just works. This delicious and light cream contains beeswax, Meadowsweet and Elderberry flowers to hydrate the skin, this is just so addictive, the minute I received I was using it for everything from my hands to my face and I haven’t really stopped since.
The scent is amazing, it is sweet almost like a subtle sherbet, it does linger on the skin without being overpowering and sinks in immediately when applied, due to the fact that this cream nothing behind soft skin and pleasant scent it has been my product of choice for the mornings when I just don’t have time to wait for body products to absorb. Melvita themselves were founded in 1983 making them the same age as me, (21 of course **cough**!) but I do like a brand with some history behind it. If you break down the word Melvita you will find the Latin words Mel=Honey and Vita=Life so as you can imagine Bee’s are an important part of Melvita’s story, the founder Bernard Chevilliat saw bee’s as key to all nature and so their preservation through organic and sustainable practises is incredibly important. Melvita’s products are based on three key types of ingredients: vegetable and plant oils, floral waters and of course honey which they believe to be the purest expressions of nature.
What I personally like about Melvita is the range of products available and price points and the fact that they are one of the few natural and organic brands that manage to reach a wider audience. Certified by Ecocert and Cosmebio the range uses over 900 organic ingredients in their products.
Melvita have been on a bit of a roll lately with their new releases, with ranges to appeal to most people. The bottom line is that anyone who wants a multi-purpose but light cream will enjoy the Melvita Universal cream, the tin is very practical for travelling and I couldn’t help but feel like my heart was warmed with the beautiful Bee Children’s book they sent alongside it.
