The post second in my heaven scent series (you can find the first here) focuses on one of my all time favourite ingredients: Rose. Roses have been a part of peoples beauty rituals for centuries, in fact both the Greeks and the Romans used rose petals to scent their baths, as well as being naturally fragrant roses have been shown to have anti-inflammatory and calming properties and rosewater can be helpful in cooling the skin.
Here are the latest additions to my rose collection:
Pacifica Persian Rose roll on This perfume is a beautiful fragrant and slightly spicy mix of Bulgarian rose, violet and Myrrh for a twist on the traditional floral. I love this as an evening scent as the warmth of the myrrh is perfect for adding a little something extra to the rose. Pacifica have well priced and phthalate free scents and I love the roses embossed on the bottle.
La Sultane de Saba Rose body oil I think this brand should come with a warning “may cause addiction”, whilst I have loved everything I have tried from the brand already I am completely obsessed with this deeply nourishing and aromatic treat. This body oil contains beautiful oils such as carrot and prickly pear which leave the skin so silky and smooth as well as wonderfully scented. I love the ritual of applying this as well as what is does for my skin, it shares the same complex rose scent that the other products in the line do (see here for more) and it is floral but slightly fruity, so delicious and makes an excellent perfume too.
Balm Balm Floral water in Rose Is a simple product, just floral water nothing added that is perfect as a hydrating spray, to mix up powder face masks, to “set” and soften the look of mineral make up and much more. I also use rosewater to fight prickly heat in the summer, the scent is soft but uplifting and this one is certified by the Soil Association.
Maddi Alexander Rose beauty balm (£14 for 15 mls) Balms are some of my favourite multi-tasking products and this one from luxury line Maddi Alexander has been keeping my hands and cuticles soft as well as my lips moisturised. Made with coconut oil, almond oil and apricot oil, this balm is easily absorbed and smells divine. The rose is mixed with blend of pink pepper and cardomon making it stand out from other rose scents, I highly recommend this range I have loved everything I have tried!
Nourish Rejuvenating Peptide serum Nourish are my go to brand for affordable serums with excellent ingredients, I have previously reviewed the relax peptide serum here and the rejuvenating line is just as lovely with all the same goodness of peptides and hyluronic acid but it has the added bonus of a gorgeous rose scent that is soft and feminine. This range is aimed at normal skin but I have found all Nourish products gentle enough to use on my sensitive skin.
