Finding a good liquid base without the usual suspect ingredients is notoriously hard, whether it be lack of pigmentation or blendability so far the perfect base has escaped me. I have found the closest thing to perfect in this DD cream from Green People though so all is not lost!
The Age defy+ DD cream tinted moisturiser (£34.95 for 30 ml) has a medium consistency but applies like an absolute dream, for a silicone free product I found the application to be totally flawless with both fingers (great for a lighter coverage) or brushes (great for achieving a medium more perfect finish), I personally love to apply it with the Real techniques expert face brush or the Ecotools skin perfecting brush which both have synthetic bristles meaning they absorb less of the product.
The ingredients list is longer than for most products of it’s kind but I do think that Green People have packed a lot of active ingredients in here which is unusual for a make up product like this. Jojoba, squalane and Sweet almond and Shea butter moisturise and Sea fennel is claimed to brighten and renew the skin. The DD cream has an SPF of 15 which comes from Titanium dioxide, not enough for me to skip additional SPF completely but certainly a very welcome addition.
The finish is glowing without being greasy and lasts all day, it is one of the few make up products I can honestly say when I apply it my skin looks better when I remove it than when I started. I usually use moisturiser and serum underneath as I have dry skin but when in a rush I have used this by itself and my skin was fantastic, if I did that with other products my skin would be dry or flaky within a couple of hours with this DD cream I was left with glowy skin.
The colour selection is sadly only two shades. Below you can see both light and medium swatched, I use the colour light and it blends well. I love that Green People offers sample sachets to try before you buy (find them here) as I think it is very important with base products to do so and find a match you are happy with. I am certainly hoping that this product sells well and Green People expand the colour range as it is the best natural/organic foundation I have tried. The Light shade does oxidise ever so slightly, but it is minimal and is an issue I have had with lot’s of natural formulations but just a heads up for those with fairer skin make sure you get a tester and use it for a full day before deciding. I really like that light has a neutral undertone, I am not yellow or pink so neutral really suits me.
Green People claim this will cover and soothe redness and again I would agree, the result is natural skin but perfected rather than a heavy mask and I always feel very confident when I use it. I apply a small amount of powder to set the T zone and leave the rest of the face glowy.

Although I rarely like to write nothing but a glowing review aside from the colour selection I couldn’t find anything to fault with this product, I will definitely be repurchasing and whilst the price isn’t the cheapest I am more than happy to invest given the results I have seen for my skin. Have you given this a try? What did you think?
