Boxwalla – Let It Glow box first impressions

As January is a notoriously gloomy month, I have just the thing to lift your spirits and get your skin glowing after all the excess of the Holiday season. Say hello to this gorgeous limited edition Boxwalla – Let it glow box. Boxwalla are an innovative subscription service based in the US, however their boxes are available worldwide.

Boxwalla are bringing something a little bit different to the market with their subscriptions and I think they are doing a fabulous job, they provide four different boxes with something for everyone, choose from; Food, Book, Film or Beauty. The boxes are bi-monthly and the next box is due in February.

I had a scan through all the previous beauty boxes and the quality of the brands featured is impeccable, you get to discover wonderful up and coming artisans and more established brands. Boxwalla have a brilliant ingredients policy, so you can expect all brands to be cruelty free and free from a list of ingredients I would personally avoid too. The box itself is tree free and made from cotton scraps, which is very cool.

The Let it Glow box is currently available as a one time purchase, I am not entirely sure how many boxes are left, so I you love the look of the products (You will!) don’t leave it too long before you order. Here is the contents of the box and my first impressions:

RMS Living Luminizer – A full sized RMS beauty product in a beauty box is the stuff dreams are made of. This brand is one of the organic pioneers and the Luminizer is a cult product loved by models, celebrities and little old me. The Living Luminizer has a coconut oil base and is a dewy cream, perfect for adding a sheen to those areas of the face that naturally hit the light such as brow bone, tops of the cheeks etc… The colour of the Luminizer is a cool pearl shade and I would say is flattering on most skin tones.

Wabi Sabi Botanicals BUDHI Sacha Inchi Eye Nectar – I loved this product from the moment I took it out of the box, the delicious coffee scent really packs a punch. I am a big believer of using oils around the eyes, yes I like a cream or a gel too, but oils are where it’s at for a highly concentrated treatment. BUDHI means to “awaken” and the glorious blend of oils is designed to hydrate and brighten the under eye area. You can see from the amazing colour that this oil is potent, the ingredients list is beautiful; Sacha Inchi oil, Evening Primrose, Sea Buckthorn and Prickly pear are all included. You only need a really small amount of this oil, one drop between both eyes, but I saw a difference from the first application which is very impressive.

Lina Hanson Global Face trio – Lina Hanson’s products have been on my list to try forever now, I love the philosophy behind the brand and Lina’s effortless grace. The Global Face Trio is the only product I haven’t managed to try yet, I wanted to get this post up before the boxes were all gone, but I will do a full review later on. It is a clay based product and comes in a powder form, that makes it versatile and a good multi-tasker. The ingredients include White Clay, Thanaka wood powder, Rice bran, ginseng and lemongrass. Global face trio can be used as a cleanser, as an exfoliator or as a mask. This is a half size of the product, but still incredibly generous and I can’t wait to use it!

My thoughts on Boxwalla as a service and this box are nothing but positive, I don’t tend to ship a lot of products over from America, but I may have to make an exception from now on, because the February box looks incredible as it includes One Love Organics, H is for Love and more amazing goodies. The Retail value of the box is $115 and you can get it for just $49. It ships within the US for free, but even if you are paying international shipping it is still great value at $18.95. The only box that is US only is the Food box, shame because it looks yum! What do you think of Boxwalla, are you tempted?
