If one of your new years resolutions is to make time for yourself then I have a wonderful therapeutic and pampering brand to share with you. Micheline Arcier is a brand I hadn’t heard of until relatively recently, but they have already scooped several Beauty Shortlist awards.
Madame Micheline Arcier was a champion of holistic wellbeing and had an extremely successful private practice in Knightsbridge. The use of essential oils to aid wellbeing is something I am truly passionate about, it has helped me tremendously and I am always very excited to try a new brand. I have been testing out some products from the line and here are my thoughts:
Vie Nouvelle Aromatherapy Body oil – (£40 for 100 mls) This is one of those body oils that you will reach for when you are in need of some relaxation. Lavender as an ingredient can sometimes have a bit of an old fashion reputation, but good quality lavender oil is an amazing ingredient, calming and therapeutic. Here the lavender is mixed with sweet orange and sandalwood which lifts it, the oils harmonise beautifully and you can tell the skill that is involved in creating the scent. This oil is suitable for pregnancy and post-partum and would make a wonderful gift for a pregnant mum. The oil is very easily absorbed, it has a base of Apricot kernel oil but the essential oils are used generously so you only need a very small amount at each application.
I like to apply a small amount after a shower, concentrating on arms and chest so I can enjoy the beautiful scent. I have also have the Tonique Body oil from a Pure Natural Box and it is wonderfully invigorating with a combination of Rosemary, Lavender and sage. These oils are a real pleasure to use, the way the essential oils are combined is really special.
Tendre Aromatherapy Face oil – (£30 for 15 mls) Has a lovely blend of Chamomile, Jasmine and Neroli. I haven’t been using this daily, although you could and it would be highly beneficial, instead I have been using for facial massage a few times a week. The scent is beautifully calming on application and the oil itself is light and easily absorbed as it has a jojoba base. What I love about this face oil is that it leaves the skin very comfortable, especially if it is feeling a little sore and it takes away redness evening out skin tone. The oil comes in two sizes and the one pictured is the smaller size. I really like the frosted glass bottles the products come in, I would prefer if there was a dropper in the lid as at the moment you have to be quite careful when dispensing the product.
Despite the fairly simple base oils all the Micheline Arcier products manage to really capture my attention. The essential oil blends are without a doubt the stars of the show and the way they are combined is effective and feels special and nurturing. If you love aromatherapy products I highly recommend Micheline Arcier, a beautifully pampering brand.
