January is notoriously cold and wet month. A crash back to reality after all of the excitement of December. I thought I would share three products with you that I have been testing throughout January that have made the month that little bit more bearable. They all have in common that they feel nurturing and a little bit special.
Joik Lemon and Vanilla Body Lotion (£10.50 for 150 ml) The smell of this body lotion, a zesty and slightly sweet blend of lemon and vanilla has me dreaming of summer holidays every time I use it. This is a light lotion in texture, but very nurturing on the skin, leaving it very soft. The ingredients include Monoi, Sea Buckthorn and babassu oil, also worth noting it has Yoghurt extracts so not suitable for vegans. This is the first product I have tried from Joik and I have been rather impressed with the formula, it’s perfect for mornings and the scent lingers without being too heavy.
Herbfarmacy Temple Balm (£8.50 for 20 ml) Herbfarmacy are well known for both their use of home grown herbs and their balms. I have visited the farm in the Herefordshire hills where Herbfarmacy is based on several occasions and it is the most beautiful place. This temple balm is made with Organic Herefordshire Hops from Tenbury Wells as well as Meadowsweet grown by Herbfarmacy, for it’s pain relieving properties. The balm also has essential oils of spearmint, Chamomile, lavender and Ylang Ylang, making it smells delicious. I have had this on my desk since it arrived, I love that it is gentler than other temple balms I have tried but still works incredibly well. It is easy to apply, I just dab some on to my ring fingers and massage across the forehead and temples and it relieves tension and makes my head feel clearer and more focused.
Kiss The Moon Dream after Dark Bath oil (£38 for 100 ml) This bath oil is a bit of an indulgence, because the price point is a little on the high side, but I love Kiss The Moon’s beautiful branding and the product itself doesn’t disappoint. You squeeze two pipettes of the bath oil in to a running bath, you really don’t want to add too much because this doesn’t emulsify with water. The scent is from Lavender, Chamomile, Cedarwood and Bergamot essential oils, it’s deep and rich, indulgent and relaxing all at once. I also like to take a few drops in my hands during a shower and inhale gently if I don’t have time for a bath. This feels very luxe and the branding would make any of the Kiss The Moon products an amazing gift.
You can shop all of these products at LoveLula who offer free International shipping with any order over £10. Also worth checking out the LoveLula Beauty box, I didn’t get around to writing up December’s box on the blog because of the holidays, but it had a full sized Balm Balm perfume with lot’s of other treats! Let me know, what were our January saviours?
