I find so much happiness and contentment in my night time skincare routine. Taking off your make up at the end of the day, applying body oil and of course my skincare ritual are all part of setting the scene for (hopefully!) a good night’s sleep. My newest skincare hero is the beautiful Dafna’s Nutrition, a nurturing night cream that uses a wonderful blend of natural ingredients and the principles of Ayurveda to bring balance to the skin.
In Ayurveda there are three Doshas (Or energies that circulate in the body) – Vatta, Pitta and Kapha. All three Dosha’s are present in the body, but people will be predominantly one Dosha. Having used Ayurveda products before I know I am predominantly Pitta, which is a fiery and intense personality. Something that got me thinking recently was the focus in Ayurveda on the mind body connection, it makes perfect sense to me that my skin suffers at times of stress and I think that the effect of our mind on our skin is an area that is not all that often explored.
The ingredients in the Dafna’s Nutrition are all designed to bring harmony to the skin and are particularly suited to dry or mature skin. My skin isn’t particularly dry at the moment, I am not sure if it’s my hormonal changes after baby or simply the fact that I am not out in the cold weather as much as when I was working, but I still find this to be a lovely addition to my routine. I love this cream on my sensitive skin, it feels nurturing and has the most beautiful texture, thick but melts easily in to the skin. This night cream calms any redness and leaves skin wonderfully soft and plump.
You have a total of twenty one ingredients in this cream, including some fantastic heavy duty moisturisers:
Rose fruit oil, Argan oil, Shea Butter, olive oil, macadamia oil, Jojoba oil will all nourish the skin deeply. Macadamia and Shea Butter are two of my favourites for dry skin, the just seem to power through dryness. You also have a mix of herbal extracts such as Echinacea, Green Tea and Ginseng which add antioxidants to combat daily pollution and stress. This cream also contains one of my favourite ingredients bee propoplis, which adds a lovely glow to the skin as well as Reishi and Rose wood essential oil.
Dafna’s Nutrition Night treatment – £75 for 50 ml
It’s quite hard to compare Nutrition to any other creams as it is quite unique, it has similar nourishing properties to the Therapi Ultra Radiance cream, which I also love but the texture is more refined and luxurious feeling. For those of you who make your skincare routine a nightly ritual, I have no doubt that Dafna’s Nutrition will appeal, it ticks all the boxes in terms of luxury feel, quality natural ingredients and beautiful minimalist packaging. The range is available at Dafna’s website.
