Introducing Natural Beauty box: Kissed by the Ocean edition

Up until recently there haven’t been too many subscription boxes catering for natural and organic consumers, especially in the UK, but that is changing with new boxes launching; some that have left me less than impressed but others that I think are definitely note worthy. The Natural beauty box is definitely in the latter category, for those of you who love a subscription box, I am working on a bumper post of all the natural and cruelty free friendly boxes available and my thoughts on them; so stay tuned.

The Natural Beauty box launched last month with a cracking box including some of my favourite brands such as Terreverdi, Evolve and Earth Conscious deodorant. The box is a rolling subscription, with discounts available for three and six month subscriptions bought up front. On the site it says:

“Each month you will receive 5 or 6 natural, organic & cruelty free beauty & skincare products. Products will be a mixture of travel size and full size items from established brands, upcoming brands and smaller artisans. We love to support small UK businesses so get in touch if you would like to feature one of your products in our box. Products are tailored around a new theme each month. There will be a wide and varied selection of beauty and skincare products which will only have the best natural and organic ingredients. Our partner brands never test on animals, we are 100% cruelty free.”

I like that this box is supporting UK artisans, we have so many wonderful brands in the UK that deliver fantastic quality as well as being reasonably priced. I also like the fact that the brands are cruelty free and tailored around a theme. I do think natural and organic boxes are difficult to curate, partly because everyone’s definition of what constitutes natural is slightly different, but from what I can see The Natural Beauty box is doing a great job so far.

This months (February) theme is Kissed by the Ocean and here is what is included:

PHB Skin refresh gel Seaweed and mint – As someone who suffers from chronic heat rash every summer, I thought this was a clever and welcome product in the box. I have another of the PHB gels to try and they are nice and cooling, they can be used on face and body, but I am using mine on body only. The Aloe Vera base makes this gel easily absorbed and the gentle mint scent is really refreshing.

Little Ondine Nail Polish – This bright Aqua shade screams summer and Little Ondine is a brand I like and use often. This polish is peelable, so no need for nail varnish remover, just peel it off when your done. I don’t find these are the longest lasting polishes on my nails, but I love the fun colours and gentle formula (one of the cleanest I have found so far).

Tose Apothecary French clay and Lemongrass Detoxifying body scrub – This brand is a new one on my radar and this scrub smells absolutely delicious. This scrub is packed with grapeseed and coconut oils as well as dead sea salts.

The Salt Parlour Jasmine and Matcha Green Tea Scrub – This is another beautiful smelling scrub, if you love Jasmine I think you will like this a lot! This scrub isn’t as oily as the Tose scrub and although I was initially a bit concerned that there were two scrubs in the one box I have to say both are beautiful and quite different products.

PHB Beauty Pure Organic Lip Gloss – This pretty vegan lip gloss in the shade grace is the perfect everyday pink. The formula feels lovely on the lips and has a light sheen to it (not chunky glitter). I can see me using this one a lot, especially when I am running out the door to the school run and don’t want to look too done up.

From what I can see this months contents are also all vegan, I like the mix of brands and I was pleased to discover some new to me products as well some old favourites. If you subscribe, boxes are shipped the 20th of every month, if there are boxes left over they are sold as a one off on the site but you pay additional postage. Overall I like this box a lot and think the price of £24.95 a month is fair given the quality products included, this months box has a value of £65 which is fantastic.

For every box sold the company makes a donation to charity and every customer that shares a picture of the box will be in with a chance of winning an extra treat in their next box which I think is a very cute idea.
