The hot weather has made an appearance this month in the UK, which has meant it is time to get out the summer dresses and sandals. I have to admit my skin is very dry, but recently it has been even drier than usual, especially areas such as knees, elbows and feet. Thankfully I have been using two products from the Love Lula website that have been the perfect solution.
Botanicals Wild Rose body balm – (£18.50 for 60 grams) The Wild Rose products are one of the newer additions to the Botanicals range. This is an amazing British brand, all the products are suitable for vegans, cruelty free and certified organic by the Soil Association. This body balm is a gorgeous smooth blend of Shea Butter, Sunflower, Apricot and Jojoba oils delicately scented with rose and rose geranium essential oils. This body balm can be used anywhere you need a bit of extra nourishment, I find it works brilliantly on the tops of my arms which can be a little rough in this heat.
As this product doesn’t contain any water (just plant oils) you may find it easier to apply after a shower on damp skin. You also don’t need a lot, as the oils and butters used are rich. I love how smooth and soft skin feels after use, it gets rid of dry skin like a dream and leaves it feeling like silk. This is one of my all time favourite body products and Botanicals is a really wonderful brand. If you are not a fan of rose it is also available in Neroli.
Lyonsleaf Body Butter – (£16.99 for 110 ml) Lyonsleaf is a brand I have used and loved for years. Their products are fantastic value for money and they are all handmade on their very own farm in the Mendip hills. The body butter is brilliant for dry skin because just like the Botanicals body balm contains no water, just a lovely mix of natural ingredients to soothe and soften. I like to use this body butter all over, concentrating on my shins, feet and upper arms. It is very lightly scented and the lovely aroma of the natural ingredients such as Shea Butter and coconut oil really come through.
Lyonsleaf use a high percentage of organic ingredients in their blends, the fact that they are water free means no harsh preservatives are needed too. This product was a Free From skincare awards gold winner and rightly so, it is really effective and soothing on the skin. This is a lovely family run business, I have loved every one of their products!
I hope you enjoyed my Love Lula picks for this month, these are two brands I have been using and writing about for years so I highly recommend them for their ingredients and fabulous ethics. If you are a Love Lula customer and love to chat natural beauty why not come and join the Facebook group they have created – You can find it here.
