Tried and tested: Beauty Bust Oil by Laboratoire du Haut-Segala

I usually don’t buy in to body treatments that are targeting a specific area, instead choosing multi-purpose nourishing products that can be used wherever needed, but there are some exceptions. After two babies and many months of breastfeeding, I have noticed that my bust and chest area was looking a little more dry than usual and with some fine lines starting to form. Having never tried a product specifically formulated for the bust area, I thought it was certainly worth investigating.

The Beauty Bust oil from Laboratoire du Haut-Segala was sent to me via natural beauty boutique Eco-Beauty shop and retails for £21.50 for a 100 ml bottle. Although this is marketed specifically for the bust area, I can’t see any reason why it couldn’t be used as an all over body oil or to tackle other areas of the body that suffer from dryness or other concerns such as stretch marks. The ingredients are made up nourishing natural plant oils and has a really high percentage of organic ingredients at ninety nine per cent.

Sunflower and olive oils provide a really nourishing formula, olive is a little bit thicker than some of the other carrier oils, but I personally love the slightly cushioning feel it provides on the skin. Next you have daisy oil, prickly pear seed oil, ginseng and mandarin. Prickly pear seed oil is a really effective oil at hydrating and improving the look of the skin, making it one of my favourite ingredients and one I wish would be used more often in body products.

The product comes in a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser, although plastic isn’t my favourite packaging choice for environmental reasons, I do appreciate the use of the pump which doesn’t leak or spill. It is also light and easy to travel with compared to glass. The oil has a very light scent from the mandarin oil, citrusy and fresh but the naturally nutty scent of the olive oil also comes through. The oil has a lovely texture and I found it easy to apply, striking a nice balance between being easily absorbed but also weighty enough so that you feel skin is really hydrated and nurtured.

This bust oil feels nice to use, which meant I was keen to apply it regularly. I used it in the evenings and some mornings, but I think that to see optimum results use twice a day is best. I am really pleased with how the product has improved my skin, let’s be honest there are no miracles, but a definite improvement in softness and a big reduction in dryness which in turn plumps out any fine lines. An interesting product to add to your body care routine if you need a really effective body oil or to be used as a targeted bust treatment.
