Retailer favourites – My picks at The Choosy Chick green beauty boutique

As the natural, organic and green beauty space has grown, so have our choices of where to shop. I thought I would do a series of posts sharing with you my favourite natural beauty retailers from around the world and my picks from each one. First up today we have The Choosy Chick, a family run US beauty boutique showcasing some of the best clean beauty brands.

As I am based in Europe I primarily write about UK and European stockists, but I know lots of my readers are based in US. It was important to me to be able to recommend somewhere for you to shop, a retailer with a great selection and with whom the attention to detail is impeccable and The Choosy Chick ticks all those boxes. I have been chatting to the founder of The Choosy Chick; Margot, online for several years and she is always so sweet, knowledgeable and friendly. The selection they carry includes some of my favourite brands and all the family are included, so perfect if you are shopping just for you or for others too.

The Choosy Chick ship internationally (with a few exceptions) and the packages are always beautifully boxed. Remember to check if extra charges and taxes are applicable where you live, so you don’t get any surprises. Here are some of my favourites:

H is for Love Bara Balm – I am totally obsessed with this beautiful US brand that came to me via a Boxwalla Beauty box. Bara Balm is my favourite product from the range, it is a rich, silky balm formulated with gorgeous ingredients such as pomegranate seed oil, Sea buckthorn and Tamanu oil. Bara Balm works beautifully as a night treatment, or to spot treat dry patches. The formula melts in to the skin and isn’t heavy or waxy like some balms can be, it also smells divine, a real sensory delight, I just love it.

Kari Gran Lip Whip Radiant – I reviewed Kari Gran a few years back (find the post here) and their lip whips went on to be one of my most repurchased products. The texture of these balms is spot on, light but they give great coverage on the lips. You can choose from several different coloured tints or a clear version, Radiant is my go to for everyday with a hint of pink, but I have my eye on Jolene as my next purchase which is a deeper pink.

Mun Aknari brightening youth serum – Margot was kind enough to send me this serum to try several years back now and I used and loved every drop. This serum is incredibly high quality, but uses just a few key ingredients. The texture is refined, it has a lovely brightening and smoothing effect on the skin thanks to Bulgarian rose oil it smells absolutely divine. It is one of those products I was extremely impressed with and wished that I had another bottle.

Inika  – I am a huge, huge Inika fan. This line of vegan mineral make up has the best ingredients and formulations. I have been using Inika products for around eight years now and love nearly everything I have tried, so narrowing down my favourites is hard (see my full Inika review with swatches here). A Couple of products I am using a lot at the moment are the Mineral foundation and Day to night palette. The palette was a sweet gift from my husband and as it is limited edition I suggest you snap one up before they are gone! It is quite rare to get palettes in the natural beauty world up until now, especially one with such a nice shade selection, I really enjoy using it. The mineral foundation has an SPF of 25 and is the perfect everyday product, you can apply lightly or achieve higher coverage and it can be used as a concealer too.

Moa Magic Organic Apothecary – I have tried and own nearly all of the Moa products, with the exception of the serum and it is a brand that is just gorgeous. It provides brilliant value and the formulas are really lovely. My two particular favourites are the Green Balm, a great multi-purpose balm that can be used to cleanse and hydrate and the Hello Sunshine body oil, which is really invigorating and refreshing as well as hydrating.

Nudus lipsticks – These lipsticks are a really classic formulation, full of gorgeous ingredients and with a beautiful colour selection. With organic certification and a great colour payoff, Nudus lipsticks look gorgeous on the lips and have that really gorgeous polished look to the packaging.

Kimberley Sayer lavender and almond face scrub – Kimberley Sayer is another brand I have been using for a long time, before I started writing about beauty. The lavender and almond face scrub is a really gentle, hydrating scrub perfect for banishing dull dry skin. With no microbeads but full of gentle hydrating ingredients, this product is a lovely addition to anyone’s routine.

Lily Lolo -Another firm favourite is mineral make up brand Lily Lolo. They have make up at brilliant prices, I have used the loose mineral powder products for years, but recently I have been using the Pressed blush and the Coralista cheek duo, both perfect for everyday. I really like that Lily Lolo offer affordable talc free make up in a variety of flattering colours.
