Podcasts have been around for a while, but are really taking off at the moment. Our lives are busier than ever before, so podcasts are a great way to keep yourself entertained whilst you do those boring jobs like cleaning the house. I have been listening to podcasts for a few years now, but recently I have expanded the kinds of podcasts I listen to; from politics and comedy to beauty, there is something out there for everyone. Here is a round up of some my favourite beauty and wellness podcasts I am listening to right now.
At Home With – A podcast by the hugely successful bloggers Lily from Lily Pebbles and Anna from the Anna Edit, this podcast has some fantastic guests such as Georgie Cleeve founder of Oskia, make up artist Lisa Eldridge or Liz Earle original founder of the skincare brand of the same name and entrepreneur running her own platform Liz Earle wellbeing. As you would expect from Lily and Anna, At Home With has a nice relaxed feel, chatting about life and delving in to people’s bathroom cabinets.
Emma Guns show – Emma Gunavardhana is a journalist and presenter with a wealth of experience in the beauty industry. I loved Emma’s thoughtful questioning and variety of guests, in fact although this is relatively recent discovery I have listened to every episode available. Guests come from a variety of beauty and wellness backgrounds, so you can expect lot’s of different topics and discussions. Beauty enthusiasts should definitely tune in to her episodes with Nadine Baggott and a personal favourite of mine was the episode with facialist Abigail James who is well known for her holistic approach to skin.
Formula Botanica Green Beauty conversations – Newly launched this week, I am so excited that Gemma and Lorraine from Formula Botanica, the innovative online cosmetic science school have also created a podcast. I am currently studying with Formula Botanica, expect to here more on this topic soon, but the podcast is set to be a great resource for anyone interested in the green beauty industry. They have launched with three episodes to start and there is also a competition whereby you can win a spot of their award winning courses, which is well worth entering. See my interview with Lorraine here, to learn more about Formula Botanica and what they do. These podcasts are interesting and hugely informative.
The Jillian Michaels show – Jillian Michaels is a US entrepreneur and former trainer on the hit show The Biggest Loser. I first started listening to Jillian when she had a radio show, quite a few years ago and when she launched the podcast I have been a listener ever since. This show is a real mix of funny anecdotes from Jillian’s daily life, informative interviews with other experts, as well as the kind of fitness and nutrition based tips you would expect from a trainer. Jillian’s persona is much more fun and easy going on the podcast than how she was portrayed on the television, so this is a great podcast to listen to if you are looking to make any kind of positive change in your life.
Pinks Boutique Podcast – Kirstie and Luke Sheriff the founders of gorgeous organic beauty brand Pinks Boutique as well as new men’s skincare range Proverb have a great podcast covering a variety of topics, it is an interesting way to get to know the people behind your products a little better. They talk about their various business adventures, skincare topics like how to cleanse your skin properly or more personal topics such as what it is like to be a husband and wife team working together. To anyone with an interest in natural and organic beauty, their podcast about organic certifications is really informative.
