It has been a while since I talked about A Beautiful World, this UK beauty boutique brings you some of the best niche and green buys from around the world. The site carries some fabulous brands including MuLondon, Josh Rosebrook, Indie Lee and many more, they also offer International shipping and a generous reward programme. I have some of their newest launches to share with you, some of which are UK exclusives.
Lilfox Miami is a high end green brand from California, launched exclusively in the UK at A Beautiful World. Founded by Aromatherapist Alexis Rose Saccomani, the range uses natural, organic and wild crafted ingredients and is also infused with crystals. She says:
“As an Aromatherapist, I think skincare should go beyond a daily routine. Beauty rituals are an opportunity to elevate your mood as well as revitalising your skin and spirit. Finding the time to slow down, take a breath and reconnect with yourself is vital”
I was sent two full sized Lilfox products to try. As you can see from the description I would add Lilfox to other brands such as May Lindstrom or Kahina, that are about a beauty experience beyond functionality and about a pampering luxurious experience with a price tag to match.
Camomilla infusion cleansing make up remover – This is an oil based make up remover, Jojoba is infused with chamomile, lavender and frankincense. It is soothing and removes make up with ease. A really beautiful product and you only need a small amount applied to a cotton pad to remove all your make up. Surprisingly effective and pleasurable to use for a product with only a handful of ingredients.
Jungle Glow Rainforest Honey enzyme cleanser and mask – This is one of the most talked about products in the range, I had heard so many great reviews so I had high hopes for this product. I can say I think it is a wonderful product, however it wasn’t in practice quite what I was expecting given the other reviews I had read. As this is a honey based cleanser it has a thick creamy consistency, it has raw cacoa to stimulate circulation, white clay and maracuja and rosehip oils to nourish. The product arrived completely solid, not surprising given we are in the middle of a UK winter and a lot of the ingredients used such as honey have a tendency to solidify. When you begin to stir the product it warms up and becomes spreadable on the face.
Jungle glow also contains rosehip seeds for exfoliation, so the brand says it can be used as an exfoliating treatment as well as a daily cleanser. My experience with this product was that it worked brilliantly as a weekly treatment, but was too grainy for daily use on my sensitive skin. This surprised me, given I hadn’t seen anyone else mention this in their reviews, I do wonder whether perhaps it might be that the honey in mine is slightly crystallised and that makes it more grainy than usual.
As it contains honey and high quality oils, it is very moisturising and doesn’t set hard on the face. The smell is incredible thanks to the bitter orange and cacoa, like a spa treatment in a jar. I would be incredibly happy if all of my products smelt this good! You only need a small amount of this product per application, around a teaspoonful in my experience. I apply to slightly damp skin to help smooth it across the skin and leave it on for as long as you would like, from one to thirty minutes. I use a warm flannel to steam the treatment off my face and you are left with brilliantly soft skin, really smooth and resurfaced, making it brilliant for congestion and dryness. I do experience quite a bit of redness after using this mask, another reason why I don’t use it daily, but my skin is very reactive to exfoliation so this isn’t unusual for me. There is no doubt that this is a pricey product, but one that will last a long time for me.
I was also sent a few samples from some of the other brands on the site. Excitingly they are now stocking Yuli, a brand that has a cult following and that hasn’t up until now been available in the UK. I have been using a sample size of the Ambrosia serum, a water based hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid, epidermal growth factors and probiotics. This little bottle is really lovely, whilst it doesn’t really feel like it is doing anything when it is initially applied, after a few weeks I was impressed with how clear and healthy my skin looked. Yuli is a brand that packs a lot of science in to their formulations, green chemistry plus natural ingredients make it a nice option for skincare lovers.
Mr Green has had the pleasure of trying Brickell, one of the new men’s ranges on the site. This really cute sample pack is a perfect introduction to the range, with trial sizes and sachets of all the products in the range. His favourite product was without a doubt the daily essential face moisturiser, which he has asked me to buy him in the full size. The moisturiser contains 83% organic ingredients including, aloe vera, jojoba, green tea and willowbark to keep skin clear. Definitely one to look at for the men in your life, I was impressed with the packaging and pricing of this range too.
