I mentioned in my recent post about the newly launched Clean Beauty Campaign, that Weleda were launching some new products; including these fabulous new Beauty Balm Tinted Day Creams. As you would expect from Weleda, the Beauty Balm Tinted Day Creams provide a nice natural finish and a touch of colour, to even out skin tone and provide skincare benefits.
The Weleda Beauty Balm Tinted Day Cream comes in two shades; Nude and Bronze. Thanks to the formulation, the shades are quite forgiving and can also be mixed together to create different tones. The finish is a light coverage, great for those days when you want to wear make up but you don’t want to wear a full coverage foundation. The Weleda Beauty Balm has a nice semi-matte finish, which looks very natural on the skin. I found that when my skin is feeling on the drier side it is essential to prep well before application, so I have been using the Almond facial lotion and a thin layer of Skin Food as a base. If my skin is dehydrated, I like to mist a hydrating toner over the top during the day to stop my skin absorbing all the water content of the BB cream which can lead to the pigment rolling off the skin.
I have experimented with several brushes and application techniques, but tend to find the warmth of my fingers works best. I apply a light layer of the Beauty Balm in the shade nude all over the skin and a touch of bronze wherever I want to warm up the complexion a little. I then apply concealer to any areas that need extra coverage – I am still using the concealer from Hynt Beauty. The Beauty Balms have a formulation that is suitable for vegans and they work nicely with the Weleda Tinted Lip Balms for an easy everyday look.

As you can see from the swatches, there is quite a jump in colour between the two shades. Nude is actually a perfect match for me, as it has a good neutral undertone and Bronze warms up the skin without being orange or too muddy. I think Bronze will be perfect to use in the spring and summer months either layered over or mixed with another base.
All Weleda products are certified natural (many are also organic) by certification body NATRUE, see more on that here. The brand uses nature identical mineral pigments in their colour cosmetics, this is to ensure that the mineral pigments are ethically sourced, which is something that cannot be guaranteed when sourcing mineral pigments that are mined from the earth. The Weleda beauty balms are suitable for vegans (some of the other Weleda products are not, so please do check on a product by product basis).
I have been really enjoying these new releases from Weleda, it is great to see the brand branching out to colour cosmetics and these BB Breams will be perfect for anyone searching for a natural finish. The Weleda Beauty Balm Tinted Day creams are priced at £18.95 and available at retailers worldwide, or through your local Weleda advisor.
