I have another Boxwalla beauty box to share with you, this time it is the June Beauty box offerings. I know quite a few of you are interested in these boxes, so I am pleased to be able to be bring you my first impressions a little earlier than usual so if you love the look of the box you still have time to subscribe.
This months box features a new to me brand – MOSS (Modern Organic sacred skincare). MOSS was founded by Celestyna Higgins, who has a varied background in astrophysics, fashion and Yoga. MOSS is a blend of the best natural ingredients blended with scientifically backed actives.
This months box contains two full sized products from the brand:
Beurre Celeste ($70 value) – This is a decadent emulsifying cleansing balm with honey, sea buckthorn pulp and macadamia nut oil. When I first opened the jar, I was pretty captivated by the sweet honeyed scent with a fresh edge of lemon myrtle. This is quite a thick cleansing balm, it reminds me a little of the Dafna’s Recovery cleanser or the De Mamiel cleansing balm, both of which I love. The Beurre celeste cleansing balm rinses easily with water and leaves the skin comforted and nurtured. Personally I love a cleansing and I don’t think you can go far wrong with this one. Personally I love to use a cleanser like this at the weekend when I have time to really massage the ingredients on the skin and enjoy the process. Beurre Celeste can also be used as a hydrating mask.
Ilumina ($146 value) – This is a Vitamin C serum featuring sodium ascorbyl phosphate, white willow bark and pumpkin enzymes. The serum comes in a thick gel texture and is quite easily absorbed. I found the yellow gel goes white on the skin before absorbing completely. This serum makes a lot of claims and has lots of interesting ingredients, so I am very much looking forward to seeing how my skin reacts to using it longer term. It is recommended you use two or three times a week at night, on cleansed skin, for sensitive skins this will be less. I have only used it once so far and haven’t experienced any irritation.
As usual this months box is phenomenal value for money. Boxwalla is a bi-monthly subscription and there are one off boxes and products* available on the site as well. The box ships for free within the US and is available for shipping internationally, making it a great way to try a variety of brands. Something I think sets Boxwalla apart from other beauty boxes is just how beautifully curated the selection is. I also loves all the information that comes with the box and is on the Boxwalla social media feeds, which really enables you to discover the brand and the products featured.
If you are already a subscriber, your June box will ship the first week of June. If you are not a subscriber and would like to sign up for this box (you can cancel any time) you can do so here*, the subscription costs $49.95 and is billed bi-montly.
