The weather in the UK for the past few weeks has been the best I think I have ever known it, in fact we are in the middle of a heatwave that has meant that anything more than SPF alone was sliding straight off my skin. Today though the temperature has dropped and so I took the opportunity to play with some make up for the first time in a while. I actually wanted to try the new Ere Perez Cacao lip butters, as the colours looked so pretty, so this entire look was created as an excuse to pop one on! It is meant to be a glowing, relaxed look. Nothing too fussy, in fact even though there are a few products involved, start to finish it took me fifteen minutes to do.

Skin preparation¬† – I don’t think you need a lot of products on the skin for a simple look, but I do like to hydrate and prep the skin as it makes every product sit so much better. Even in the heat my skin is prone to dry patches, so a face oil is a must. I started by cleansing with the Lyonsleaf beauty balm, this gentle balm cleanser is vegan friendly, nicely hydrating but not too heavy, good for a nice facial massage and getting the blood flowing. After removing with a warm flannel I spritzed the skin with Therapi honey skincare Rose Otto toner, this cools and hydrates the skin, but it also makes the facial apply more easily. Final step is a few drops of oil pressed in to the skin, I absolutely love the Glow oil from Innersenses. This is a new addition to my routine and I adore the gentle neroli scent as well as the dewy finish. I finished off the skin with some Jason mineral sunscreen, the formula is quite light and doesn’t leave too much white cast, but it does have some silicones in, so a bit of a compromise. I have nearly finished the bottle because it has been so hot and would buy it again as it was very effective.

Make up application – I used a small amount of the Madara moonflower tinting fluid as a light base, this adds hydration and glow. If you only like a very light coverage you can use this product by itself, but I like to top it with some mineral powder foundation, this time I used my favourite Inika loose mineral powder foundation with SPF 25 (my shade is nurture), applied in light strokes with a kabuki brush. Before I applied the mineral powder I popped some of the Ere Perez concealer in the shade latte under my eyes and on a couple of blemish marks. This concealer has great coverage and good staying power, it is very similar to my favourite Hynt Beauty concealer, in fact I struggle to tell the difference between the two!

For the eyes I used a small amount of the Lavera trend eye shadow base as a primer. Normally I never bother with natural eye primers because they are quite creamy and don’t seem to have much of an effect on the staying power of eyeshadows on my oily lids, but this has a gel light texture and has a slightly tacky finish as it dries, I do think it helps with the longevity of my eye make up as well as making the shadows pop a little bit more. As with all the Lavera make up range, it is also very affordable. Then I used the Lavera eyeshadow quattro in the shade cappuccino cream, I mentioned this quad in my Love Lula picks for ¬£20 and under post. The shadows are great neutral colours, have a nice consistency and good colour pay off. Here I used the two lightest shades, the cream colour all over the lid and added some shading with the lighter taupe. I then lined the eye with the Odylique pencil in black, this is one of my favourite eyeliners as it is very gentle and doesn’t irritate my eyes. I smudged it in to lash line with my Inika eyeshadow brush for a more relaxed feel. I added a very small amount of the Hiro Wow brow in the shade medium to tame my brows a little, it is a pommade consistency and also adds colour, very easy to use and gives a nice finish. The last step was a couple of coats of the Lavera curl mascara, I love the brush on this mascara as it really lets you get to the base of the lashes with ease, it also lasts relatively well, so I am actually pleasantly surprised with the new formulation compared to previous Lavera mascaras I have tried.

Ere Perex lip colour

I added a small amount of the Benecos bronzer in the shade Ibiza nights to the high points of my face, this is a lovely shade for adding warmth and a sun kissed look, it is one I have repurchased too. Then I added a small amount of RMS Living luminizer with my fingers, for a pretty sheen to the top of the cheek bones. Finishing off with a pop of the Benecos blush in the shade Sassy Salmon on the cheeks. I love this colour, it is bright but doesn’t look “overdone” in my opinion and has great staying power. The final part of the look is the Ere Perez cacao lip butter in the shade play, these are beautiful tinted balms but with a good amount of pigment. Play is what I would describe as a corally pink, very summery and easy to wear, lovely and hydrating too. Ere Perez also have some lovely looking lipsticks I can’t wait to delve in to! This brand is highly addictive, you have been warned.

Nothing complicated, but a lovely summery make up look. I love the Ere Perez lip butter and I think it works perfectly in this look, complimenting the Benecos blusher perfectly! I would love to hear what make up you are enjoying at the moment.
