I have been very impressed with so many of the Lavera products that I have tried, but especially some of the make up items, which have become daily staples. Lavera is one of the natural beauty pioneers and they are certified by NATRUE, one of the lesser known certifications, but one I like to look for on my products. To read my post on what the NATRUE certification means see my post here.
I chose some lip products and a cream blush to try, I have already reviewed a powder blush from Lavera and the eyeshadows and both of those are lovely, see my previous review here. I know a lot of people prefer a cream blush, especially if they have dry skin as it adds a fresh look. In my experience the downside can be a cream doesn’t last as long, but it really does depend on many things, including what you wear underneath.
Lavera Trend Natural Mousse blush* (Soft Cherry 02) £9.90 – The natural mousse blush comes in a round pot with a screw lid. Very convenient for travelling and light weight for your handbag. The colour Soft Cherry is a soft pink with coral undertones, the texture itself is very light and does feel whipped when you apply, really silky. Unlike other natural cream blushes it does have more of a semi-matte finish, which may suit combination skins more than something dewy although as it is swatched heavily it doesn’t look matte in the picture. The pigmentation of the blush can be built up although at first it tends to look quite sheer, I think it will best suit light to medium skin tones as I am not sure how well it would show up on darker skins. Overall I think this is a really lovely product, especially given the price point and quality of ingredients, although word of warning for vegans, Lavera does use carmine in many of its colour cosmetics and the products in this review are no exception.
Swatches from left to right – Lavera soft lip liner (Rose 01); Lavera Brilliant care (Oriental Rose 03); Lavera Trend Beautiful lips intense colour (Beloved Pink 36); Lavera Natural Mousse Blush (Soft Cherry 02).
Lavera Soft Lip Liner* (Rose 01) £7.90 – If you need an everyday nude lipliner with a pink undertone, this is a lovely soft lip liner, easy to apply and a nice colour to use under another lip product or by itself. It is a nice matte texture, as you can see by the swatch, it is actually much easier to apply on the lips than it is on the arm. As it is a nice neutral tone it works well with lots of different lipsticks including darker colours.
Lavera Brilliant care* (Oriental Rose 03) £11.90- This is a pretty tinted balm, glossier than a lipstick but not quite a gloss. This feels wonderful moisturising on the lips and has some lovely ingredients including shea butter to nourish, sodium hyaluronate for keeping lips hydrated and mallow to soothe. This is a lovely everyday lip product, especially good for anyone who likes a natural look or who likes minimal amounts of products as you get your colour and care all in one.
Lavera Trend Beautiful lips intense lip colour* (Beloved Pink 36) £12.90 – This is a really nice mid-toned pink with a blue undertone. Bright enough to make a bit of a statement, but personally I think subtle enough to wear day or night. It applies beautifully and feels really creamy on the lips. Given the creamy texture I was very impressed with the longevity of this lipstick and I love the colour, so have been using it a lot this month. The packaging is functional and light, not as glamorous as some of the other natural lipsticks but this is reflected in the price you pay.
If you are looking for truly natural and certified make up products, Lavera is a great brand to explore. I am continuously impressed with the quality of the formulations, especially given that the price points tend to be lower than a lot of the other brands on the market. All the products featured are available at Love Lula, who offer free international shipping. Have you tried Lavera make up? What are your favourites?
